\"Large Ham\" is no longer a YMMV; moving it back to the Main Page.

** ''All'' the villains, including "[[AdolfHitler The Führer]]" himself in the infamous World War II episode.
** Captain Planet ''rules'' this trope, in addition to being a fine example of how IncomingHam is done.

** Captain Pollution also counts. The guy litterally exists to spread destruction and pollution and loves doing so. Justified as he was spawned from purely destructive forces.

** Also, his element is fire. Fire is traditionally linked to agitated feelings, such as being hot blooded or being angry. A specific type of anger is called rage. Wheeler is from Brooklyn. So what the show is trying to say is that [[YuGiOhTheAbridgedSeries Joey Wheeler, from Brooklyn, has Rage.]]

Don\'y say \"actually\", just strike it.

** How about the implication that having anymore than two children makes you an irresponsible buffoon that'll have a household that pollutes too much, will take up way too much room, and that the children will all be utter brats in the episode "Numbers Game"?
*** Actually, the whole purpose of that episode ''wasn't'' that you should ''limit'' yourself to specifically ''two'' children, just that you shouldn't do the '''reverse'' and have ''more'' children than you can provide for.
** What about the episode with Hitler, where his glare weakens Captain Planet? And it weakens him - not incapacitates him like acts of pollution in other episodes. So, basically, if you pollute, you're worse than Hitler.
*** Actually, it was more that Hitler was just such an evil, monstrous person he was like living pollution.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: In one episode we actually see that under very specific conditions, it was possible to have a Captain Planet without all five of his elemental superpowers (in this example he only had the powers of Earth and Heart, due to their ring-bearers being trapped on a spaceship). This caused the usual DeusExMachina Captain Planet to actually think strategically as he couldn't do everything he normally could . . . . sadly, this concept was never revisited beyond this one episode, but various partial power Captain Planets could have been an interesting concept to expand on.

Corrected the death of Cousin Boris.

** Not to mention the drug-abuse episode "Mind Pollution", where Verminous Scumm hands out drugs to everyone causing them to go insane [[spoiler: and causing Linka's cousin to jump of a window from the second story of a building and die as result]], which show the possible effects certain real life drugs can have on a person.

* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: While the dialogue in "Teers in the Hood" couldn't be taken seriously, the images of Martin Luther King Jr. and other civil rights leaders is [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome very powerful]].
** Also, the HIV episode "A Reason To Hate". Not even remotely subtle, and it might come off as hammy in parts, but the message that HIV patients ''aren't'' horrible monsters who brought their fate on themselves, that they won't give you The AIDS just through touch, and that despite their condition they're ''still human beings'' who need support and love? In the early 90s, that was an anvil that needed to be dropped, and ''hard''.

** On the other hand such a message would be better spread by a show or something else that had a shred of credibility, hell a message can just end up being hampered regardless of it's own merits if it's delivered by the village idiot.

* CriticalResearchFailure: Captain Planet is damaged by crude oil, ''a completely natural material'', yet is also healed by lava and magma, both far more dangerous than crude oil. Strangely, Hoggish Greedly calls the crude oil he fires "toxic waste", but it's a storyboard error as he fired a thick, shiny glop at Captain Planet, just like oil, as opposed to the [[TechnicolorScience colorful glop]] the show represents as toxic waste.
