"Idiot Plot" is now Flame Bait.

* CompleteMonster: Jean Cloche is a silly-seeming but sinister man who manipulates a violent general to ensure he gets control over production of the world's food source in a time of mass starvation. When the titular monsters threaten the only Japanese island not overrun by them, Cloche engineers their invasion and flees. Responsible for the prior outbreak of the bio-meat creatures in Japan and the deaths of 100 million innocent civilians, when called out for his actions, Cloche shows nothing but smug indifference to his crimes.

Fixing a trope name.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment: There's a high-tech facility in Japan involved in something potentially very dangerous but nonetheless indispensible to modern society. Then the facility is wrecked by an earthquake, causing an uncontrollable release of something very, very bad.

** There's absolutely nothing about their intended purpose that requires them to be incredibly fast, strong and resilient predators, since garbage doesn't move or fight back. On the contrary, the musculature and systems needed for that behavior would likely expend a lot of energy that would be better spent on fattening up.

* CompleteMonster: Jean Cloche at first seems to be a FunnyForeigner CloudCuckoolander that serves as a foil to his superior. Then, he's an AffablyEvil Chessmaster who effortlessly manipulates a stupidly aggressive Eagleland American general into helping him steal/take control of BM production using a terrorist attack as a pretext. However, when everything goes FUBAR, he leaves everyone high and dry, consciously and willingly dooming Kyushu (the only one of the four main islands that's not overrun by BM at that point). Later, it's revealed that he was behind the events leading to the previous outbreak, which resulted in the deaths of over 100 million people on the Japanese mainland. His reaction when confronted with this boils down to "You can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs" - always while keeping the same trademark bemused, smiling expression.

** Its debatable how much can really be done about B-M's dangerous qualities. For the product to be effective, it needs to a) be able to eat almost anything, b) reproduce quickly, and c) be unaffected by disease or other issues that can kill regular cattle. Obviously the optimal solution would be to somehow make them not want to eat humans, but there isnt really anything that separates human tissue from other meat.

** Given the pride and sociopathy of Dr Toujou, the creator and administrator of the biomeats, he might have resented any suggestions on improving his "perfect" creation. Since the world's food supply is dependent on his invention, the government officials did not step in to intervene lest he leave and take the secrets of biomeat creation to another country.
