* {{Hunk}}: Many fans consider Steve to be this trope with his muscular build, prominent jaw, and deep, smooth voice courtesy of Hugh Laurie. The fact that he's the tallest main cast member also helps.

** The screenplay for the film pretty much confirms Peter's sexuality, as the text outright states that Peter "has a crush" on Steve.

This fits more under Artistic License Geography, so moving it to the main page.

** There ''is'' a city named Trelew in a Spanish-speaking country on the other side of the Atlantic from the one in Cornwall, but it's in Argentina, not Mexico. Appropriately, it was founded by a community of British immigrants - but from Wales, not Cornwall.
** Their depiction of Toronto featured a viaduct similar to the city's Gardiner Expressway but with a railway track, even though the city has no elevated railway lines.

Moving the Prep and Landing stuff to the trivia page for Dueling Works. The X-Men example does not count because the movie came out a half a year before this one.

* CultClassic: Due to a perfect storm of poor marketing, a crowded movie season, and Aardman going with an off-brand look which didn't attract it's hardcore fans, the movie had a dismal theatrical run and wasn't appreciated until it hit home video. Since then, it's become extremely popular, enough to be a modern Christmas staple in many households on both sides of the pond.
* HilariousInHindsight: This is not the first time elves acted as a [[WesternAnimation/PrepAndLanding super-spy prep team for Santa]].
** This was in production before that short though.
** And both could be considered a SpiritualSuccessor to the elite E.L.F.S. squad that rescues Tim Allen with jet packs and tinsel guns in ''Film/TheSantaClause''.
** This won't be the last time Arthur winds up on a [[Film/XMenFirstClass Cuban beach]].

** During the Christmas dinner scene early in the film, if you read the messages Steve is receiving on his HOHO, four of the five (although one is left unseen) are from Peter. In order, they say, "Great job today, sir!", "You looked great today, sir!" and "I'm still up. Just so you know." Uh...yeah.

Steve is NOT the villain. The movie doesn't have one.

* DesignatedVillain: Steve. He's squarely in the position of being the villain, but all he really does that's bad is attempt to persuade Arthur that of the ''six hundred million'' kids who've had presents delivered, it doesn't really matter all that much if one of them gets her present a few days later. Apart from that he's intelligent, efficient, takes pride in his job and is even sympathetic, in that he's been waiting and hoping for years to become Santa [[spoiler: and is doomed to be cheated out of what could be considered his inheritance, although that itself may not matter since his reasons for hoping to become Santa was just to receive acknowledgment from his dad, which he gets anyway]]. One of the criticisms the film received was that none of the characters were really mean enough to count as bad guys. Grandsanta is the ''actual'' closest to one due to his selfishness, and even he redeems himself.
** According to WordOfGod from writer and director Sarah Smith, Steve was never thought of by the film makers as a villain. It's probably due to bad marketing that some got the impression he was intended to be one. (Really, the film in general was marketed all wrong.)
