* PlatonicLifePartners: Maybe they were planning to get to it later, but it's a little strange that the show never really set Vytor and Skyla up like they had any interest in each other.

Young warrior Vytor and his friend Targill engage in a contest to see which of them will become their primitive village's champion. During the contest Vytor is attacked by a heavily-armed robot who ultimately chases him into a secret room where a holographic woman
tells him he's destined to become the Starfire Champion and stop warlord [[BigBad Myzor]], "king of war". Myzor planned to use the awesome power of the Orb of Saturn to conquer the galaxy before its Starfire Ring was stolen by Vytor's father, and thus making a target of Vytor in order to get the ring back. Vytor is aided by Skyla, princess of a highly advanced civilization in, well, the sky. His primary weapon is the Starfire Shield which besides providing an impregnable defense can also act as a glider and houses the Trimerang, a giant mind-controlled shuriken.

Despite being a fairly promising adventure show, ''Vytor'' made use of somewhat extravagant animation; however, it failed to find support from toy companies, and was shelved after only a few episodes were produced. The ones that were originally aired as a one-week special event, later finding their way onto DVD.

It made use of somewhat extravagant animation and failed to find support from toy companies, and likely it would've been too hard to offset costs to keep making it. The ones that finished episodes were originally aired as a one-week special event, later finding their way onto DVD.

* BrainsAndBrawn: Vytor isn't really dumb, but he is from a primitive tribe and he does tend to be a lot more physical in dealing with malcontents. Skyla on the other hand usually lets her devices do the work for her.

* HumansAreBastards: Vytor's tribe relies on a special tree to provide them not only what they need to survive but also to remind them of their desire for peace. When Vytor accidentally kills it, it hasn't been gone for a day before his people starting arming themselves for war. It's so bad nobody even seems to be asking "who with?"

It's so bad nobody even seems to be asking "who with?"with?" unless they really were building catapults and sharpening spears to use ''on each other'' in plain view of their neighbors, which is kind of indicated when Vytor breaks up a fight between two of them.
