* TheAce: Perfect Man is an especially [[{{Jerkass}} arrogant]] version of one, though he's actually more the FeetOfClay type.

* AffablyEvil: Dr. Malochio may be an evil villain planning to destroy the Awesomes and conquer the world, but he also is polite to everyone and personally makes his minions home cooked meals.

* TheAlcoholic: Teleportation Larry can't stay off the sauce for more than a few minutes, which makes him a liability ''almost'' all the time.

* AmbiguouslyBrown: Hotwire. Since as of the second season we've seen the rest of her family ([[spoiler:actually, we saw her father in the first few minutes of the pilot episode, but we didn't find that out until later in the first season]]), all of whom have a noticeably lighter skin tone than she does, she must just really like sunbathing.
** Throughout season 2 it's mentioned they're Italian.

* BlessedWithSuck: Prock's only power is being able to [[TimeStandsStill stop time]], but his doctor warns that using it too much ''will'' kill him eventually. [[spoiler:When a villain uses AppliedPhlebotinum to copy the power, we see just how dangerous the power really is to its user.]]
* BoldlyComing: Muscleman has a fetish for alien women, caring little about what species; he'll do anything from [[HumanAlien human]] to StarfishAliens. And beyond; in one episode he's shown having sex with what appears to be a potted plant with eyes.
* BreakTheHaughty: Perfect Man seems to be going through one. He's convicted of treason (though his ego and racism played a big part in letting that happen), he's passed over as a new member and is forcibly confined to the tower since he's a fugitive and found that most of the team thinks he's a joke.

* CantHoldHisLiquor: ''One'' Mudslide turns Prock into a ranty drunk who badgers Malocchio Jr. about his moral fiber.
* CarpetOfVirility: Muscle Man possesses one.

* ComplexityAddiction: Malocchio's reason for treating his plan to take over the world like a game. The only person on the planet immune to his mind control powers is Prock; he could have sent Perfect Man or some other hero in to take him out in an instant, but instead just screwed around with him for ten episodes. Comes back to bite in him in the butt later.
* CoolLoser: Prock is intelligent, dedicated, loyal, relatively mature, and he's not bad looking despite the jokes, but from the way the others talk, you'd think he was the biggest loser on the planet. Before the series started, his love life amounted to A: supervillains who were using him to get close enough to kill his father or B: one spin-the-bottle kiss with Muscle Man's crazy sister.
* CrazyPrepared: Prock qualifies as he has plans of how to defeat each member of the Awesomes (even himself) aside from Concierge in case they turn evil. He also has the Hologram Room protected so none of the team members can break out of it with their powers and has a system that can cover his team in a holographic disguise when they're in Awesome Mountain.

* ADegreeInUseless: In "Tim Goes to School" the team is going undercover at Tim's school, Impresario refuses to be the janitor and instead says he'll be the art teacher because he has a master's degree in design, and he won't be the janitor because he doesn't have a master's degree in English.

* EvilFormerFriend: [[spoiler:Doctor Malocchio to Mister Awesome.]]

* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Prock, mostly when it comes to the women he dates.
* HypercompetentSidekick: Concierge is technically just the Awesomes' support staff--''all'' of the support staff--but is one of the most reliable and useful members of the team. In the second season, she's promoted to full membership, complete with costume.
* HypnoticEyes: Dr. Malocchio can mind control everyone he looks at, but both Mr. Awesome and Prock are immune to this.

* WickedCultured: In addition to his interest in destroying the superheroes, Dr. Malocchio is quite the gourmet and an excellent cook (he manages to concoct something not only edible, but quite palatable, out of only the ingredients "beans, grapes, cinnamon and tobacco"). He's ''seriously'' offended that his minions want to order pizza instead of having his latest creation for dinner.

** SuperSpeed is not an unusual superpower, but Frantic's similarity to TheFlash is reinforced by the fact that he wears a yellow costume similar to one of the Flash's early ones.

* Alternate Self: In the 4th and 5th episodes, the team encounters alternate universe versions of themselves and several of their enemies.

* The Multiverse: Episode 4 establishes the existence of multiple universes, with the following episode revealing the alternate Earth featured to have the designation of Earth-4.

* Super Registration Act: All superheroes are required by law to register with the Government Office of Superhero Affairs (G.O.O.S.A).

Has been officially cancelled by Hulu after the third season ended, though the creators are still looking for networks willing to pick the show up.

Muscleman is initially okay with this, thinking she's [[ClassyCatBurglar Cat]] ''[[ClassyCatBurglarGirl]]'' until he sees her picture, and rejects the date.
