''Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge'' is an animated direct to video movie based on the VideoGame/MortalKombat video games. The plot is as follows:

* AdaptationalHeroism: Scorpion has a history of HeelFaceRevolvingDoor in the games and is often regarded as a villain and siding with them against Raiden's forces, before finally becoming good by the reboot timeline. Here, [[spoiler:even before Quan Chi reveals he is the one who killed his family]], Scorpion is a rather decent person and even allied himself with Liu Kang, Sonya and Johnny against Kano's mercenaries despite them being his opponents in the tournament.

* DumbassHasAPoint: Johnny Cage takes a long time to realize that the situation is very real and not a movie, but when he, Liu Kang, and Sonya encounter Scorpion he points out to all of them that technically nobody among them declared Mortal Kombat, meaning there is no reason for any of them to kill each other.

* JustToyingWithThem: [[spoiler: Liu Kang appears to defeated Goro, but then Shang Tsung tells Goro to start fighting seriously. Goro then gets serious and nearly kills Liu Kang.]]

** Johnny Cage might be the comic relief but he proves himself a skilled fighter towards the climax by helping Sonya rescue Jax.
