* LoveAtFirstSight: Apparently Dennis is Winnie's "zing". And if it hasn't actually happened yet, her constant crashing into him suggests she is really trying to invoke it.
** Still, if they did "zing", it would have had to be when Dennis was pretty young, given that he's only just now turning 5, so he might not actually realize what happened. It also raises some concerns about whether LoveAtFirstSight can happen with a ''baby''.

* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Winnie responds to Dennis's cousins making fun of him by bearing her many sharp teeth and growling viciously enough that they ran off crying.

* EdibleAmmunition: A human in a monster suit shoots cakes out of his mouth as if they were cannonballs and he a cannon.

** A subtler example is when a couple drives by Drac on their tour. The man stops and asks Dracula if he knows a place to grab a bite, [[MistakenForRacist before the woman corrects him for poor choice of words.]] [[HypocriticalHumor And then says he likes Dracula's]] [[ShoutOut chocolatey cereal.]] [[ITakeOffenseToThatLastOne Ironically, the latter ends up being more offensive to Drac.]]

* Flanderization: Dracula as a character is even worse than he was in the first film. He puts Dennis in danger by tossing him off a very high tower and then blaming the camp counselor for his ignorant action of tossing him off the tower, is very insistent about making Dennis a vampire, and at one point in the film, he says that she made him babyproof the whole hotel and saying that “someone’s overprotective”. Pot calling the kettle black, much?

* MundaneMadeAwesome: 24-Hour convenience stores are fascinating for Mavis. Justified since, as a vampire, Mavis can only come out at night.

* NeverTrustATrailer: According to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-idjTwrV4-c this]], they created several parts of the teaser trailer that are either cut or altered in the final film, like Dennis spinning around and going "Again! Again!", and the tower falling and exploding in a fire on impact. Turned out to be false. Both are present in the film, and the latter is a major plot point.

** Drac meant no harm, but his friends were understandably terrified of him throwing a child, who probably can't fly, off of a tower - getting closer and closer to smacking the ground and splattering into a gory pancake.
** An arguably more frightening example is when [[spoiler:Bela takes Dennis and Winnie hostage, even going as far as [[WouldHurtAChild throwing Winnie]] with almost enough force to ''kill her'', or even send her little body flying into low-earth orbit, or worse, ''COLLIDE WITH THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION''.]]

* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Winnie responds to Dennis's cousins making fun of him by bearing her many sharp teeth and growling visciously enough that they ran off crying.

** The Phantom of the Opera who appears is the {{Badass Decay}}ed, slightly-scarred, HotterAndSexier version from many [[Theatre/ThePhantomOfTheOpera adaptations]], as opposed to the genuinely monstrous version from [[Literature/ThePhantomofTheOpera the original novel]]. The other characters find him incredibly annoying, eventually telling him to "[[BigShutUp SHUT UP!]]"
