* TakeThat: A rather sobering one in "Bob Bilby". Bluey and Bingo are supposed to give the titular puppet an exciting weekend with them. But rather, they get sidetracked showing him the "wonders" of cartoons, be it on a tablet, television or phone. By the end of the first day, they look at the photos they've taken, and are humbled to see that they've tragically wasted half of the weekend on cartoons. Although watching cartoons was gratifying in the short run, it's rather "boring" when compared to other kids who took Bob Bilby to faraway places or taught him karate.

** In "Horsey Ride", Socks grabs hold of Bluey's toy, so Stripe, Bandit, Bluey, Bingo, and Muffin start playing "horsey wedding" in hopes that Socks will join in on the game and therefore let go of the toy.

However, Bluey tries to find an in-game way of stopping the game, which is getting Bingo (who's pretending to be a parrot and the rule is that everyone pretends to be whichever animal she says) to say, "Polly wants a doggie".

** Characters are shown to bark sometimes. Usually this is when they're excited, but in "Yoga Ball", Bingo's "big-girl bark" was used as a way of saying "no", and in "Tradies", the Heeler girls did it to try to scare the eponymous tradesmen Chippy and Sparky away.

** In "Yoga Ball", a sad Bingo curls up like a sleeping dog.
** In "Bob Bilby", Bingo's classmate is seen with their tongue hanging out.
** In "Takeaway", Bandit tells the girls not to get wet as wet dogs smell bad, then later Bingo fetches a newspaper the way a real dog would.
** In "The Pool", Bandit shakes dry after swimming.
** Characters are sometimes mentioned to get dog diseases -- in "Bumpy and the Wise Old Wolfhound", Bandit's character says he has worms while Muffin's says she'd had rabies last week, while in "Granddad", Mort is said to have had heartworm.
** In "Adventure" and "Christmas Swim", characters catch balls in their mouths.
** Characters are sometimes addressed like dogs -- Bandit says, "Here, girl!" to Bingo in "The Dump" and calls Chloe's brother a "good boy" in "Wagon Ride", and Bluey says to him, "Down! Stay!" in "Omelette".
** The whole plot of "Seesaw" is that Pom Pom has HeightAngst due to being a Pomeranian. Similarly, the conflict of "Dirt" is Judo's fur being hard to clean because she's a Chow Chow.
** The girls are heard doing a HowlOfSorrow in "Ice Cream" and "Cubby".

Bluey is made and set in UsefulNotes/Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland. The show is created by Joe Brumm and produced by Ludo Studio for Creator/TheABC and BBC Worldwide, and was first broadcast in Australia in late 2018 on ABC Kids. A broadcast in the United Kingdom on Creator/CBeebies followed, and in 2019, Ludo announced that the show would be aired in the United States on Creator/DisneyJunior, as well as being available to stream on Creator/DisneyPlus. These international airings come at the studio's condition that the show cannot be shown overseas in the English language unless the characters keep their Australian accents (naturally, this rule does not apply to foreign-language dubs). The second season of the series premiered in Australia in early 2020, with a third season airing as of late 2021. The first season of the show was added to BBC [=iPlayer=] under the Creator/CBeebies section in Malaysia and Singapore in 2021, keeping the Australian accents as required.
