** TheLeader: Barbie. The best at both video games as well as programming and is the one who leads the team.
** TheLancer: Bella. At the beginning she is practically everything, Barbie isn't. Like her rival, Kris, she is competitive and had no idea about Teamwork.
** TheBigGuy: Despite how he wasn't really shown of being the strongest, Kris technically is.
** TheSmartGuy: Cutie. He is the second best at programming and knows everything about the game.
** TheChick: Crystal. The sweetest, most feminine member of the team.
** [[TheSixthRanger Sixth Rangers]]: Gaia and Maia. They only joined to the team when Barbie and co. reached the last level.

* CluelessAesop: The moral message of the movie is that you shouldn't let yourself feel confined to one path and think outside the box. This is all well and good in general and for Barbie, who gets the means to basically code a whole new game from the inside by the end of it. In real video games... you kind of do have to stay within the confines of whatever limits the programmers put in. To do otherwise is going outside the rules of the game, and going outside the rules of a game is cheating, which is [[FamilyUnfriendlyAesop not such a good message for a kids' movie to have]]. Basically good message, but bad choice of medium.
** Somewhat negated by how Barbie as a ''player'' plays by the rules of each game to win (except in the final battle, where she's essentially playing a glitched-out game) and the fact that Barbie applies what she learnt to programming ''her own game'' to not have such a linear path. That is, she is the one setting those limits and makes the rules.
