** The third Arc features Link and Pikachu being stranded in Hyrule, both having [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTearsOfTheKingdom acquired Rauru's arms]], while the other Zelda Fighters sans Sheik have also been separated from each other after being split up by Calamity Ganon. Meanwhile, the other Smashers back home deal with the aftermath of the Maus takeover.

* ButNowIMustGo: At the end of the "Reviving Characters" arc, Isabelle 2 claims that since her work is done reviving the Smashers murdered by Sephiroth, she has to return to Buttville, and she and Isabelle 1 are to have had a [[InelegantBlubbering very tearful goodbye]].

* CampingEpisode: "Dragon Stressed", which has some of the Smashers go camping to revive the Luminary. It worked, but the trip went horribly for everyone but the Isabelles, Rosalina gets smoke in her face from the campfire started by Incineroar, Ryu and Ken's tent gets invaded with fire ants, Ganondorf and Steve's tent gets rained on, Fox and Falco argue about pitching a tent, [[LoudSleeperGag Wario's loud snoring]] keeps Luigi and Sora awake all night, and Banjo, Kazooie and Olimar try to keep the local wildlife from stealing their food.

* CampingEpisode: "Dragon Stressed", which has some of the Smashers go camping to revive the Luminary. It worked, but the trip went horribly for everyone but the Isabelles, Rosalina gets smoke in her face from the campfire, Fox and Falco argue over how the tent should be set up, Ryu and Ken's tent gets invaded with fire ants, Ganondorf and Steve's tent gets leaks from the rain, [[LoudSleeperGag Wario's snoring]] keeps Luigi and Sora awake all night, and Banjo and Kazooie try to get back the food after the local wildlife stole it.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: "Everyone Is Dead" pokes fun at the side-effects of filming the trailers for ''Ultimate'': Inkling Girl has PTSD from witnessing the Smash logo, Mega Man, Luigi, and Dedede are dead, and Mario has his neck in a cast. When Sakurai asks for supporting characters for the next trailer, everyone who was left huddled in fear in the corner (and Olimar and Pit [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere outright flew away]]). Although they recover a couple of strips later.

* AdaptationalSexuality: The bonus comic for "Party Unto Dawn" has [[Franchise/AceAttorney Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth making out in a café]], making them both gay.

He's ''studying'' from a book instead of reading or understanding proper body language on how to be nice, foreshadowing that his 'brain-dead nice guy' act was all a fraud.

* SpotlightStealingSquad: Between the Revival Arc and the Paldea Arc, Incineroar, Kazuya, and Sephiroth have essentially become the main characters of the comic. For the former two, this is notable in that the author expressed his dislike for Incineroar as a character when it was first revealed as an ''Ultimate'' newcomer (having a preference for fellow ''VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon'' Starter Decidueye), and that he had no knowledge of the ''VideoGame/{{Tekken}}'' franchise upon Kazuya's reveal.

* AccidentalHero: The gang in Paldea accidentally [[spoiler:saves Professor Sada and the friendly Koraidon from the violent Koraidon]] by crashing in from the sky [[spoiler:right on top of the violent one]].

* WhamShot: Two of them in "Secret Weapons". First, is Sephiroth getting his secret weapon from Hades in a box...only to find that it's Snake who puts him in a chokehold. To this, Sephiroth turns to Meta Knight to get Snake off him, but Meta Knight points off to the side for Sephiroth to see [[spoiler:an unmasked Meta Knight waving at him alongside other fighters. He then turns around to see the defector "Meta Knight" no longer wearing armor...and a pink face covered in dark blue paint.]]

*** Although Wendy made a brief appearance when Pyra/Mythra joined the cast, the Koopalings are nowhere to be seen when Bowser Jr. is revived even though a later comic revives both Olimar and Alph and later both the female and male Inklings.

* CharacterizationMarchesOn: King K. Rool during the early stages of Everyone Is Home used to be portrayed as a gentleman MeanCharacterNiceActor, had an affable tone towards everyone, and even lacked his bloodshot eye. Later on, he would go back to being unambiguously grouped as a villain, and he got his bloodshot eye back.

* NakedOnArrival: Our protagonists for the ''Tears of the Kingdom'' arc all wake up in Hyrule only in underpants. Including Zelda, who gets some SceneryCensor to cover her breasts, but except Pikachu, if only because he's always naked for being a Pokémon anyway.

** Another poll was also held after the conclusion of the Paldea arc to determine which five Fighters would accompany Link and Zelda to Hyrule for the Tears of the Kingdom arc. They have been revealed to be Pikachu, the other two Links, Ganondorf, and thanks to the Bonus Panels, [[spoiler: Villager]].

* IWarnedYou: Cloud was paranoid about whether or not Sephiroth turned over a new leaf, but no one bothered to consider if he was right. [[spoiler: Once he's finally revived, he spends his welcome back party telling ''everyone'' that he was right not to trust Sephiroth and that they should've heeded his warnings sooner.]]

The only one to accept the offer is Meta Knight of all people, [[EvilIsPetty all because of the nerfs he received]]... until it turns out that that wasn't the case; it was ''Kirby'' covered in paint and wearing Meta Knight's armor in order to trick Sephiroth.]]
