* UsefulNotes/FurryFandom: He has made quite a few furry jokes, especially in his review of Ralph Bakshi's ''WesternAnimation/FritzTheCat''. However, he has said that he doesn't actually hate furries.

Brandon "The Hardcore Kid" Nichols is an Internet reviewer who reviews...well, a lot of things, actually. His persona is that of a kid who grew up with 80's rockers like Music/TheRamones and a lot of BBC shows including ''Series/FatherTed'', and while his slogan may say he's "hardcore enough to review kids' movies," he occasionally divulges into Internet videos, RobotWars, and ''Franchise/ANightmareOnElmStreet'' series. Imagine if [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall 90's Kid]] had his own review show, if he was from the eighties. In the end, he usually gives a movie a score of "Hardcore Hit" for good movies or "Hardcore Headache" for bad ones.

* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: An In-Universe example occurs in his [[http://blip.tv/the-hardcore-kid/jungledyret-hugo-2-6894785 review]] of ''WesternAnimation/JungledyretHugo 2''. As he was reviewing the film he noted that it got rather sexual dialogue past the radar and called out on it. Then a [[UsefulNotes/FurryFandom furry]], who wants to censor stuff that brings the fandom into a different light comes along to ask him to remove all of it because it would give furries a bad name. Saying with it that he reviewed lots of other movies that brought the fandom in a bad light. Then he sees the actual movie and comes upon the actual realization that it is just a stupid kids movie and that they were all fooled by him and decides to not disturb him any further. Must be the same thing that the censors thought when they saw the film at first glance.
