* DesignatedHero: Mighty in-universe. He fights crime, rescues orphans, rebuilds dams, etc, but he also [[WhatTheHellHero punts children]] [[RefugeInAudacity like footballs]], supposedly kidnaps girls ([[FridgeBrilliance from other planets]]) and passes them off as [[DistressedDamsel Distressed Damsels]], and apparently [[HandsomeLech hits on women like a total sleaze]]. Everyone lampshades it to hell and back.
** By Episode 5, it's clear that he was a kind of BunnyEarsLawyer: complete JerkAss, but was otherwise great at everything.

** Gangu: "Wow, I offended myself by saying that!"[[note]]As of Episode 4, Thorn has dropped the offensive stereotype aspect of Gangu's character[[/note]]

* TheGenieKnowsJackNicholson: Or rather Birdy knows Music/TalkingHeads and Music/TheBeeGees.

* IdiotHero: Defied. Thorn specifically wanted Shiro to not be a stupid protagonist like is found in every other AbridgedSeries (including [[WebVideo/SgtFrogAbridged his own]]), though Shiro could still exhibit naivete due to being a child. Every other character, however... Let's just say there's a reason [=BigTUnit1=] calls the Jetters a "ragtag team of suck".
* ImAHumanitarian: Pommy Dragon

*** JerkAssDissonance: Played with. It's pretty clear that Mighty's a jerkass hero that everybody inexplicably loves, but nobody denies this either. Shiro even straight-up admits to Mighty being a jerk in the first episode.

* KafkaKomedy: Nothing goes right for the Jetters. Protect a treasure from the Hige Hige Bandits? Their client is a bigger threat to the universe than them. Stop the new villain? End up in jail for murder. Finally get out and get back to work? They're broke and they lose their house by the next episode. And so on and so on...

* MostAnnoyingSound: Invoked with Top Bomber's "Guru guru" and "-ururu" verbal tics. Understandably, Mujoe hates him.
* MushroomSamba / ArtShift: The beginning of Episode 5.

** The "BUUUULGE BOOOOMB!" section of the opening is changed up somewhat, usually involving an explosion or something happening to Mujoe.
* OneSceneWonder: Birdy.
** [[InvokedTrope He had to be purposefully pulled back to this]] after Episode 3 when [[Creator/TheMidnightFrogs Mugiwara Yoshi]] noted that Birdy's overuse in that episode was more annoying than funny, to which Thorn and Travis agreed.

* PhysicalGod: The Bomberman have the powers of gods, including creation from nothing, revival of the dead, and instant killing, (when Louie gets involved, all three can apply). Mighty [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] this in the first episode.
** AGodAmI: Averted. Though the Bombermen have god-like powers, they seem fairly responsible with them and treat them like a part of growing up.

** Mujoe's entire intro scene is one big "Hey look! He has a giant bulge in his crotch!" The kicker: He seems to be sensitive about his bulge every point after.

** Episode 5 has Mujoe's "Alphabet Plan", which seems to involve interjecting the letters of the alphabet into regular sentences. [[OverlyLongGag He reaches all the way to R before the episode ends.]]

* ShaggyDogStory: Shiro's quest to find answers to his destiny on Sibarelu. [[spoiler:The whole thing was in his imagination to begin with, but it only culminates in a "[[ItMakesSenseInContext behind]]" {{pun}}.]]

** The theme song, "Bulge Bomb", is a [[AffectionateParody song parody]] of "Car Bomb" by Negativland, and instead of car parts it lists off various silly things in Anime/BombermanJetters and the commonly-seen fan translation (hence "'Fire' in English is called 'Fire'").
