* DemotedToExtra: In ''The Saiyan Arc Part 7'', Lance suggests that the series' infamous neglect of older characters came about from newer characters taking on their attributes, traits and roles, [[TheArtifact subsequently making the older ones redundant]]. He directly compares Kuririn to Yamcha (both being {{Hopeless Suitor}}s), Yajirobe to Oolong (both being {{cowardly|Lion}}, grumpy [[DeadpanSnarkers snarkers]]) and Piccolo to Tenshinhan (both being stern, no-nonsense rivals sharing a strong bond with someone much smaller).

Conversely, the more popular Freeza Arc received a 5/10, and the equally popular Cell Arc can only receive either a 3 or a 1 at this point.

He even goes on to point out that the heroes suddenly take the proactive option at almost ''every other point'' afterwards.
