** In BFB 23, after [[spoiler:Gelatin]] saves Four and wins the challenge, Four thanks him in a very over the top manner and flies away, leaving [[spoiler:Gelatin]] confused.
** In BFB 24, Lollipop intentionally makes a bad party for the challenge just to annoy Four. [[spoiler:Despite this, though, Four ends up loving it, granting her first place, and leaving Lollipop shocked.]]

* OutOfFocus: Due to the [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters ridiculously large cast in BFB]], characters tend to fall in and out of focus depending on the episode. Some characters seem to get the short end of the stick no matter what, however.

* RetrauxFlashback: The flashbacks in episode 26 are animated to match the style of past seasons.

** "What Do You Think of Roleplay" (episode 12) has a plot similar to the video game VideoGame/AmongUs. The episode was released a month after the game, although it could be coincidental, since it wasn't very popular at the time

It began on November 3, 2017. Sixty-four anthropomorphic objects go about their daily lives. [[ItMakesSenseInContext After a black hole sucks up the world to open a jar of cyanide for his fellow contestant]], Four and X (characters from a previous animation called "X Finds Out His Value") appear and propose a game in which the prize is a "BFDI".

After spending the entire season up to that point at the short end of Four's torment, the team "A Better Name Than That" attempts to get rid of him by "multiplying him by 0," using Donut as their 0. [[spoiler:It works, and Donut is then made the host for that episode. 4 episodes later, however, CantLiveWithThemCantLiveWithoutThem kicks in.]]

** After the split, eliminated contestants are sent to [[spoiler:the BRB, also known as the "Big Rotating Building".]]

* JumpScare: PlayedForLaughs in BFB 13. Eraser and Fries are waiting for the next contest because Four and X have a blank look on their faces, something they apparently do before an announcement. [[spoiler:Then X suddenly drills through the ground, and the two have shocked expressions.]]

* PowerTrio: The show reprises the trios of Pencil/Match/Bubble and Blocky/Eraser/Pen. [[spoiler:However, the former dissolves very quickly after Pencil's elimination, and the latter also splits when Blocky opts to stay with BFB while Pen and Eraser go to TPOT]].

** EasilyForgiven does not come into play here. [[spoiler:Bell scorns Taco for using her in the sixth challenge and refuses to accept her apologies no matter what she says.]]

* RememberTheNewGuy: Episode 26 introduces Profily, short for Profile Picture, who insists they have been on the show since the very beginning. While the contestants don't buy it, they support Profily's status as a new contestant until Four makes the challenge to eliminate them.

* WhamEpisode: Episodes 13, 14, 15, and 16 absolutely wreck the status quo.
** BFB 13/14 shows, among other things [[spoiler: Ice Cube trying to switch off of Bleh (but is still counted as a member), much of Goiky being flooded in lava, many contestants dying in said lava, Book realizing her behavior against Taco has gone too far, and for the first time ever Bleh is up for elimination.]]
** Meanwhile, BFB 15 [[spoiler: gives more information on Firey and Leafy's friendship for the first time since BFDIA, with Firey revealing to Eggy that Leafy stole Dream Island at the end, as well as featuring the return of Clock. In addition, Book now becomes the most hated member of Bleh and Taco tries to process her feelings about Book saving her.]]
** Episode 16 is the point of no return. [[spoiler:The eliminated contestants concoct a plan to escape EXIT, and meanwhile, Four is struggling to eliminate Spongy. This prompts the exitors to change plans and escape through Spongy and, after the remaining BFB contestants catch onto this, start trying to help free them while Four tries doing the opposite. Spongy and Loser are the only ones that manage to escape and, in the midst of Four trying to chase them down and re-eliminate them, a new character named Two shows up and starts convincing a majority of BFB's cast to switch to their new show, dubbed ''The Power of Two''. Many contestants do so and rub it into Four's face. Taco and Book also finally make up, and the remaining 14 BFB contestants (which include Spongy and Loser) are sent elsewhere to compete for their competition, while TPOT remains where BFB once took place.]]
** Episode 26 completely changes ''everything'' when [[spoiler: a new character, Profily, is introduced, claiming to have been a character in the show ever since day 1. While it seems to be nothing at first, it leads to not only the show moving out of the valley they were kicked into the first place, but makes the remaining contestants realize how OffTheRails the show is becoming, which causes them to welcome back the Announcer with open arms.]]
** Episode 28 [[spoiler:has the Announcer return to take back control of the show from Four. Bitter, Four [[EldritchTransformation merges with the Earth]] just to stay on the show, leaving poor X all by himself. Leafy is eliminated again, and after [[AllTheWorldsAreAStage going through all 27 challenges again]], Flower wins... [[MovingTheGoalPost immunity into the final episode]], and Gelatin and Teardrop are up for elimination. Afterwards, the Announcer continues to abuse the budget Four barely touched this season, killing Taco when she tries to intervene. Also, Four's fusion [[UncertainDoom seems to have been permanent]], much to X's displeasure.]]

On March 25, 2020, the series was split into two shows with the release of it's 16th episode, "The Escape From Four". The episode acted as a double BackdoorPilot for both a new show named ''[[WebAnimation/BattleForDreamIslandThePowerOfTwo The Power of Two]]'' (abbreviated "TPOT"), which has a new host, Two, and took most of the contestants, and ''Battle for BFB'', a direct continuation still featuring Four as the host, which takes the remainder. While the voting system for ''BFB'' was largely the same as previous seasons, it changed from "vote to eliminate" to "vote to save" after the split.

* AscendedExtra: X usually plays second fiddle to Four during their hosting stints. [[spoiler:Once Four is multiplied by zero, however, he starts hosting himself. [[DeconstructedTrope He proves himself woefully under-prepared and out of his element during his stint as host, so he steps back comfortably into being Four's sidekick again]]]].
