* ''Manga/MurasakiiroNoQualia'' has multiple characters that you can't really talk about without giving something away:
** Talking about Yukari, the purple-eyed deuteragonist, is practically impossible unless you mention that she dies after the first few chapters, and her death ends up creating the big plot and reason for the multiverse story to unfold, all in an effort to prevent her death.
** Talking about Hatou Manabe, the protagonist, is even worse, if possible. Try to describe Hatou to someone without mentioning that she ends up getting kidnapped by a serial killer, her arm being chopped off and reassembled by Yukari with the help of her cellphone. That said cellphone arm functioning as a proper cellphone and giving her the ability to talk to infinite parallel universe versions of herself that warn her of Yukari's death. That she can communicate with them and gain the knowledge and memories of her parallel universe-selves, can practically [[RealityWarper create a universe where magic exists]] that gives her magic abilities. And she recently obtained the realiziation that she could take over and "become" almost every person she wants to be. There's more, but... [[JustifiedTrope yeah]].
** Tenjou Nanami has it a bit easier. The only thing that is a spoiler to talk about with her is that she was Yukari's first "operation patient" and she had injuries that were "fixed" by Yukari with [[BodyHorror pieces of a jungle gym]].

* ''Literature/AccelWorld'':
** Takumu "Taku" Mayuzumi. You can't say much about him apart from his status as Haru and Chiyu's ChildhoodFriend without spoiling that 1)[[FirstEpisodeTwist He, not Chiyu, is Cyan Pile]], and thus the main antagonist of the first story arc. 2)The less pleasant aspects of his personality (e.g. secretly hating Haru and giving his girlfriend a backdoor program to spy on her). 3)The fact that after the arc, he remains on Brain Burst and changes for the better.
** Saffron Blossom and Chrome Falcon are difficult to talk about without revealing the former's death and the latter's becoming the first Chrome Disaster.
** White Cosmos, the White King. She turns out to be Kuroyukihime's parent and older sister, who manipulated Kuroyukihime into killing Red Rider.

* ''Literature/{{Baccano}}'':
** The Young Conductor seems to die early on, but actually is Claire Stanfield, an amazing assassin, TheAce and AxCrazy SociopathicHero. Hence he actually lived and becomes integral to the plot as The Rail Tracer, an urban legend that he created.
** Ronnie Schiatto, a seeming background character who turns out to be [[AllPowerfulBystander the omniscient, reality-warping "demon"]] summoned aboard the ''Advena Avis'' in 1711. Elmer asked him to stick by Maiza as a human and the demon, being as extremely bored as [[PrescienceIsPredictable most omniscient, all-powerful beings would likely be]], [[ItAmusedMe decided it'd be a decent change of pace.]]
** In the anime and earlier novels, Fermet was a fairly minor character who was thought to have been killed years before the story began. Then comes Blood Sabbath with the revelation that he isn't dead and never has been, and is in fact the BigBad of the series, having masterminded the events of the 2002 arc and caused Huey's StartOfDarkness back in the 1700s. These [[TheReveal reveals]] make pretty much everything outside of his [[AbusiveParents role in Czes's backstory]] hard to talk about.

* ''Literature/FromTheNewWorld'': the Fiend ("Akki") who is actually Mamoru and Maria's child who has been raised by the monster rats.

* ''Literature/FullDive'': ''Kiwame Quest'' [=NPCs=] Martin and his sister Alicia are very hard to describe after the first episode due to the former being a [[DevelopingDoomedCharacters Developing Doomed Character]] [[AccidentalMurder killed by main character Hiro by complete accident]] and the latter, also one of the main characters, who becomes an AxCrazy {{Yandere}} due to the tramua over her brother's demise and is hell-bent on killing Hiro.

* ''Literature/GoblinSlayer'': It's hard to talk about the Goblin ''{{Paladin}}'' without revealing a horrific revelation in Volume 5.

* ''LightNovel/IsThisAZombie'': Describing tropes that apply to Kyoko is very difficult if you really want to avoid spoiling the fact that she's the serial killer who murdered Ayumu. Entire entries on most of the trope pages relevant to her are almost completely spoiler tagged.

* ''Literature/LegendOfTheGalacticHeroes'': It's ''really'' hard to discuss the series without giving away the fact that Siegfried Kircheis, one of Reinhard von Lohengramm's most loyal and competent subordinates and the closest person he has to a true friend, dies about a quarter of the way through the series while shielding Reinhard from an assassination attempt. Even long after the fact, Kircheis's PresentAbsence makes itself felt throughout the rest of the series.

* ''Literature/MyNextLifeAsAVillainessAllRoutesLeadToDoom'': Sirius Dieke is the friendly, kind-hearted StudentCouncilPresident of the Magic Academy...or at least that's what he wants you to think. It's extremely hard to talk about him without talking about his real identity and the conflict he instigates in the last three episodes of the anime that take up a good chunk of volume 2 in the light novel series.

* ''LightNovel/{{Baccano}}'':

** Ney Futipe, a seemingly minor character in ''LightNovel/ClotureOfYellow'' until she's revealed at the end to be TheMole. Then comes the later revelations that she's the illegitimate child of Prim and Arth, as well as one of the incarnations of Gretel.
** Just stating the name Cherubim Venomania gives away TheReveal in ''LightNovel/TheLunacyOfDukeVenomania'' pertaining to Steriasis's true identity.
** The Demon of Gluttony, mostly thanks to him being killed, absorbed, and replaced by Banica Conchita at the end of ''LightNovel/EvilFoodEaterConchita'', who goes on to become Master Of The Graveyard and one of the franchises main villains.

** Eve Moonlit, the Original Sinner, who is revealed at the end of ''LightNovel/GiftFromThePrincessWhoBroughtSleep'' to be the true identity of the Demon of Sloth, as well as Mikulia Calaground, Platonic ''and'' Margarita Blankenheim.

** Seth Twiright, the researcher referenced multiple times in Original Sin Story, until there comes the big bombshell late into ''LightNovel/FifthPierrot'' that he's the Demon of Wrath.

* ''LightNovel/GoblinSlayer'': It's hard to talk about the Goblin ''{{Paladin}}'' without revealing a horrific revelation in Volume 5.

The roles of Alice and Dee, who appear halfway through the anime, can also be difficult to summarize without spoiling that they're trapped in a GroundhogDayLoop and that one of them may actually be dead.

** Hades is one of these, as while he's mentioned at previous points in the series, once he does finally appear during the sixth round, he can't be talked about without revealing some major spoilers, including the identity of the previously mentioned contestants of the round. It gets worse when, due to a hole in the god's representatives after Buddha's defection, Hades announces that ''he'' will fight for the gods, despite not having been considered as a representative previously.

* ''Anime/PrettyCure'': every SixthRanger is a LateArrivalSpoiler. However, TheDragon Regina from ''Anime/DokiDokiPrecure'', started out as a villain, got quickly befriended by Mana, then Regina went nuts, then she became normal again and joined the Pretty Cure for about two episodes, and then she's brainwashed by her [[BigBad father]]. She's PutOnABus for about 13 episodes, and when she's back, she gained the Miracle Dragon Glaive, one of the three legendary regalia. Regina is Mana's friend, but it's a spoiler that she's ''still'' a villain, while every DarkMagicalGirl who wasn't an EvilKnockoff joined the Pretty Cures. And it's also a spoiler that she's ''not'' Cure Ace.

* ''Manga/ShuumatsuNoWalkureRecordOfRagnarok'':
** The representatives of the tournament's sixth round are both this. Not only do their characters spoil some major reveals in the story, but their roles in the Ragnarok tournament completely change up how the tournament had played out until this point.
*** On the human's side, there's Buddha. His introduction is already rather bad, with the reveal that he might be the creator of the [[EmpathicWeapon Volund]] system, but the later reveal that he chooses to fight for ''humanity'', [[HeelFaceTurn rather than the gods as was planned]], makes him an even bigger one.
*** On the god's side, there's Zerofuku. His mere existence is a shock, [[CanonForeigner having not existed in any mythology detailing the Seven Lucky Gods]], so knowing about him not only spoils the reveal that the Seven Lucky Gods are [[HiveMind actually one being]], but also spoils that ''he'' will be fighting in Ragnarok, rather than Bishamonten liked planned. And if the existence of Zerofuku isn't a big enough spoiler, the existence of ''Hajun'' is, as just knowing he exists spoils the fact that Zerofuku is forcefully transformed into him, forcing Buddha to fight him too.

These aspects of his character are not only the biggest surprises, but they're also the most talkedabout.

* ''VisualNovel/{{Air}}'': It's near impossible to talk about Misuzu without spoiling anything, especially [[ItWasHisSled her death at the very end]].

Her backstory also spoils [[ItWasHisSled the relatively well-known fact]] that Nagisa dies in childbirth.

** Lucius Zogratis. The very existence of a fourth Zogratis isn't revealed until 75 chapters after the [[BigBadEnsemble Dark Triad]] are formally introduced. Then we learn that the fourth Zogratis, Lucius Zogratis, is the SplitPersonality of the [[BigGood Wizard King]] Julius Novachrono right before the beginning of the final arc.

* ''Anime/LegendOfGalacticHeroes'': It's ''really'' hard to discuss the series without giving away the fact that Siegfried Kircheis, one of Reinhard von Lohengramm's most loyal and competent subordinates and the closest person he has to a true friend, dies about a quarter of the way through the series while shielding Reinhard from an assassination attempt. ** Sou Aoya doesn't have all that many remarkable personality traits at first, until it turns out that he's a SerialKiller who kills "pure" people in order to drink their blood and purify himself for the killing of his adoptive sister Ai's parents two years ago.
** The [[LastEpisodeNewCharacter last two chapters introduce two characters]] who are key to Tokiko's backstory- her birth mother and one of the nurses who delivered her. It's almost impossible to talk about them without revealing the {{curse}} surrounding Tokiko or how it came to be.

*** And then there's the main protagonist [[Characters/OnePieceMonkeyDLuffy Monkey D. Luffy]], while his personality isn't this his True Devil Fruit power that is discovered late in the Wano Country Arc ''is'' this.

** Blackbeard shows up as a minor character, albeit one who shares an awful lot in common with Luffy and briefly shares the spotlight with him. While he does become important later on, this jolly man turns out to be Luffy's EvilCounterpart and a true [[TheChessmaster Chessmaster]], matching Luffy's crewmates one for one with darker counterparts and manipulating everyone around him, including many other important characters we saw before, in his attempt to gain power and find the One Piece.

** Rocks D. Xebec is [[PosthumousCharacter long since dead]] at the main point of the story, the thing is he was once '''the''' WorldsStrongestMan [[VillainousLegacy whose actions directly affected]] the Four Emperors, Garp, Gol D. Roger, and the World Government that continues to the present day.

*** And even among the crew who wasn't a villain to start off with Sanji became this because of his actual family. Good luck talking about him without mentioning his surname ''Vinsmoke'' after the Whole Cake Island Arc.

** The fact that Dio is in ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders Stardust Crusaders]]'' is a major spoiler, as he was believed to have died at the end of ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventurePhantomBlood Phantom Blood]]''.

*** Just about the only thing anyone can discuss about Tooru without spoilers is that he's Yasuho's ex-boyfriend. Anything else about him would spoil the reveal that he's actually Wonder of U's User and the true mastermind behind the Rock Humans.
