In "Mario's Mysteries", Mario tries to get out of frame but is pushed by the edge of the frame as [=SMG4=] moves to the next room and the ending has Mario feeling like he wants to escape as [=SMG4=] has gotten surprisingly more violent. At the end of "Once Upon an [=SMG4=]", Mario asks [=SMG3=] how he will spend his money if they're stuck here, which sounds like it's not referring to just them, but rather everyone who's trapped in this programme.

"Scooby-Mario" marks the first Puzzlevision Original with Tari as an "actress" (in this case, Velma Dinkley), and we know Mr. Puzzles uses MindControl to make his actors get with the program; he'll probably even give Tari an extra dose so he doesn't have a repeat of what happened in ''[[WebAnimation/SMG4MovieWesternSpaghetti Western Spaghetti]]''. Who's to say, though, that Clench will be affected by whatever brainwashing Tari would undoubtedly be put through? Not only was he just recently brought into existence, but if you remember [[Recap/SMG4NoTVMakeMarioNoOkieDokie "No TV Make Mario No Okie Dokie"]], he conveniently went offline before the [=SMG4=] gang ended up in the basement. And if the TV (read: Mr. Puzzles' head) displayed a hypnotic screen, then Clench not having any eyes would potentially have worked to his advantage here, assuming he came back online sometime later.

Picture it: Tari's saying very "Velma" things, Clench becomes worried and asks her if she's okay, and Tari not only fails to recognize him, but focuses more on the "mystery". As much of a goofball as Clench is, it's safe to assume he would care enough about Tari to tell when she's NotHerself, and want to get to the bottom of her strange behavior. He could snap her out of it by reminding her of who she really is or of the bond they were starting to share, quack like a duck to trigger her love for her favorite animal, bring up any potential history he may have with Mr. Puzzles... or just [[BeatTheCurseOutOfHer smack her]].
