His abilities are better for an assist trophy but he could be playable with some creativity. There are lots of swordsmen to compete with but unless you believe AllSwordsAreTheSame his might be different enough, he'd be able to swing two extendable {{Laser Blade}}s after grabbing a beam sword.

** WordOfGod is that Snake wasn't added to ''Playstation All Stars'' because almost all the third party characters were included in that game to promote then-upcoming titles, so Raiden was used to represent ''[[VideoGame/MetalGearRising Revengeance]]''. More to the point, Kojima also didn't want to include both Raiden and Snake because he knew people would make them fight each other to see who's better, which is something Kojima has generally tried to avoid outside of parodies that poke fun at the idea.

*** Already assist trophies in Brawl, they seem as likely to get in as anything Wario Ware. They are not accurate {{ninja}}s but still closer to proper ninjas than Sheik so that could be some added appeal [[PiratesVsNinjas if Syrup makes it in]]. Against them is that Smash has a surplus of sword users and there are still swordsmen from Nintendo games not represented in the series, but they would only need to use Katana's for a few moves.

*** Since he has been playable in the ''VideoGame/NewSuperMarioBros'' gams and the upcoming ''VideoGame/SuperMario3DWorld'', he could work as a full-fledged playable character. His default color scheme will of course be the red spots and blue vest, and his alternate colors will be all red, all blue, green, yellow, and purple. Of course, Peach's standard special move will have to be changed in order for Toad to be a valid player.

*** While it could be seen as a clone of Zelda, Meloetta could have a vastly different playing style. Its Pirouette Forme could be a smaller, harder-hitting Shiek, while its Aria Forme could focus more on defense/evasion with moves like telekinesis and teleport.

** '''Rosalina''', after showing up in Mario Galaxy, has gotten a huge fanbase. Since she has borderline god-like powers and a moveset that can be taken directly from the game, it's natural to see TheHighQueen of Nintendo in the game. At the very least, a PaletteSwap for Peach seems inevitable.

*** I'd prefer King K. Rool, on the grounds that Mario, Zelda, and Kirby all have the series' main antagonists as playable characters. He's got potential for an interesting moveset since his initial appearance (throwing his crown, stomp attack), his blunderbuss from DKC2 could be put to interesting uses, and his Final Smash could be dropping cannonballs all over the stage like he did in the first Donkey Kong Country. A Donkey Kong Country Returns sequel featuring Kremlings would probably ensure his position in the next Smash Bros.

*** They've each got more personality than any of the hunters from the DS game, and Rundas himself is a major EnsembleDarkhorse for his [[ChristopherSabat voice]], theme song, and ice powers.

*** Probably the most iconic monster in the entire Kid Icarus series due to CaptainNTheGameMaster. He could throw eggplants at the characters, temporarily turning them into walking eggplants (much like in VideoGame/KidIcarusUprising). This would slow down opponents, keep them from using their special or smash moves, and keep them from jumping too high.

*** He will appear as a LethalJokeCharacter. Like [[VideoGame/DeadRising Frank West]] from ''Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3'', he starts off weak but can level up the more he fights. He starts off as a weak Villager, but levels up to a Mercenary, and finally into a Hero.

* He's gonna be in Ultimate MarvelVsCapcom 3, so it seems like an inevitability for him to be in SSB4.
** I wouldn't say that Phoenix Wright is inevitable. Mega Man's already confirmed for SSB4, possibly being the main Capcom representative, and Wright's appearance in UltimateMarvelVsCapcom3 would actually decrease his chances of getting in, since he's already had time in the fighting game spotlight. Still, I also wouldn't say he's impossible. The Ace Attorney series has mostly stayed on Nintendo consoles (I say "mostly", because the three first games have gotten PC and mobile phone ports), and there's no rule preventing two third-party characters from the same company getting in the same game.

** Not sure about Felicia, but Morrigan seems to have a knack for appearing in crossover games. In fact, Morrigan's probably appeared more times in crossover games (the ''MarvelVsCapcom'' series, ''TatsunokoVsCapcom'', ''CapcomVsSNK'', ''NamcoXCapcom'' and ''ProjectXZone'', ''CrossEdge'', and even ''SuperPuzzleFighterIITurbo'') than she has in her own series (though to be fair, there are only about three games in her series). Even though at the time of this edit, Mega Man has been confirmed for the fourth game, it wouldn't be surprising if Morrigan was added in as well just for the hell of it.

* Alternatively, they could include SpiderMan for his roles in the ''MarvelVsCapcom'' games, or Vader for ''[[SoulSeries Soulcalibur IV]]''. Which brings us to...

* Solid Snake appears in ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl''. He previously appeared in another MassivelyMultiplayerCrossover FightingGame, ''DreamMixTVWorldFighters'', which, among others, featured Optimus Prime and Megatron of ''{{Transformers}}'', who were featured in their own Marvel comic book, where they met Spider-Man and Marvel-owned characters like Circuit Breaker. Marvel, of course, has had crossovers with DC (and thus bringing in ''MortalKombat'' and a bunch of others), ''Series/DoctorWho'', ''Franchise/StarTrek'' and more. It also means that, by way of ''MarvelVsCapcom'' and others, almost all Capcom characters are brought in, as well as ''TheKingOfFighters'' (itself a crossover!) and numerous Tatsunoku anime characters. Capcom also had the crossover with many {{Namco}} games in ''VideoGame/NamcoXCapcom'', which included characters from SoulCalibur so we can also bring in the GuestFighter from VideoGame/GodOfWar, StarWars, and ImageComics. The two main leads of Namco x Capcom originally appeared in VideoGame/SuperRobotWars, opening the door to just about every mecha anime ever made. Image, of course, had the reputation for the horrific DeathMate crossover, which drags ValiantComics (the only name most people will recognize from there is ComicBook/{{Turok}}). Also, since we have established Marvel and DC are part of this mess, we can bring in their parent companies Disney and Warner Brothers. Warner Brothers brings with it Creator/CartoonNetwork originals and Disney brings DisneyAnimatedCanon and KingdomHearts. Naturally, Kingdom Hearts brings along Final Fantasy as well. If you wanted to go even further, you could connect this universe to the [[http://www.pjfarmer.com/woldnewton/Pulp.htm Expanded Wold Newton Universe]]. So, in short, SSB is the lynchpin of one of the biggest crossovers by implication ever.

*** There's a lack of villainous Pokemon characters in the series, and why not pick the first and most iconic one of all? Bonus points if he has his mafioso-esque hat and suit from HG/SS. His team could consist of Persian, Nidoking, and perhaps most significantly, ''Mewtwo'', allowing the erstwhile character to make a sort of stealth comeback.
