Pretty self-explanatory. In fact, I'm sure this definitely ''will'' happen to some extent.

There are far too many continuity errors.

The first sign was Rainbow Dash's voice getting higher. Then every pony got smaller. Then they were babies. Sure, the ponies may claim they were "remembering" what they did at that age, but why is the same gang of seven all together in the baby series when that group of friends didn't form until the later G3 videos? They're really just describing the deja vu they experience as they try to deny the fact that they're about to shrink away to nothing.

** ...and maybe, if we allow for a few generation's difference, the Talesverse could eventually morph into Friendship is Magic! Okay, yeah, I'm just trying to unify the whole series, sue me.

Or, more specifically, humans are the source of the "villainous" entities in the Ponyverse. The Talesverse lacks both humans and the frequent assaults of said villainous entities. As both continuities are set in an explicitly magical universe, it could be argued that humans somehow subconsciously generate the evils when in an area with magic. In fact, one could conceivably do some ArcWelding and say that at some point between the two series, humans were barred from ponyland specifically because of this trait....

Before Nightmare turned crazy, while she still ruled the nighttime alone, her sister Daymare ruled the day.
After Nightmare was sealed in the moon, Daymare changed her name to fit with her new responsibility towards the entire celestial sphere, instead of just the daytime.
* Since her sister is named Princess Luna, and only took the name Nightmare Moon after her FaceHeelTurn, Celestia was probably named Princess Sol-something (since just Princess Sol would sound silly).

All the ponies have some manner of innate talent, whether magical (Fluttershy can control animals, Pegasi control the weather) or mundane like Apple Jack's skill at herding animals.
We're told that the world outside of Equestria does not require the maintenance Equestria does; animals take care of themselves, as does the weather. But this is not a sure thing. In case of a breakdown of the natural laws, Celestia created servants that might keep things running smoothly so she herself could focus on fixing the underlying problem. She made Equestria exempt from some of these laws so that the ponies would not forget the skills required. The ponies with mundane skills are to collect the practical knowledge of civilization so that even if all life outside of Equestria is destroyed through some cosmic SNAFU, rebuilding will be possible. They were given free will because Celestia and Nightmare needed the company.

Either Rainbow Dash is the daughter of the unicorn (Firefly is the mother?), or the unicorn is Rainbow Dash turned cyborg after a horrible accident.

Note how, at least after the first obstacle, all the 'obstacles' seemed tailor-made for each aspect of the Elements of Harmony. The Manticore just needed Fluttershy's kindness, the creepy trees returned to normal when Pinkie Pie (followed by the rest of the ponies) laughed at them, the sea serpent's mustache was restored by Rarity's generosity, and to fix the bridge, Rainbow Dash had to prove her loyalty. Coincidental EigenPlot, or some kind of gambit on Nightmare Moon/Princess Luna's part?
** Maybe Nightmare Moon isn't Luna but a being of terror ala [[GreenLantern Parallax]] that [[DemonicPossession took her over]] and they were all set up by Luna tring to free herself.

All the products we've seen (invisible ink, sneezing powder, drinks) all have picture labels. Twilight Sparkle was put up in a library that doesn't seem to function as a library anymore- there's no staff, no customers, and she's set up chemistry experiments in the main room. Even Twilight's fellow students in Canterlot seem pretty adverse to reading.
* Well, it's not like anypony except the unicorns can write. Probably, ponies of sufficient means can hire scribes (either unicorns or magical creatures with thumbs, like baby dragons) to write letters and keep records.
** Jossed: Non-unicorns they can write with their mouths.
* Now that we've seen a pony school, rampant illiteracy seems unlikely. Still, it wouldn't kill Ponyvillians to patronize their local library now and again.
** Only it's Twilight's house now.

This ties into the series being MerchandiseDriven; if it sticks, fans would want/feel they have to buy a new, winged Twilight Sparkle to match the one on the show. Also, this could also provide a bit of BodyHorror for Twilight and require an adjustment period, with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy helping her learn how to fly and fearing being socially outcast based on her strange new appearance. (This being [[SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism Ponyville]], such fears would be largely unfounded.)
* That would leave us with three winged unicorns - one in charge of the day, one in charge of the night, and Twilight in charge of the time between.
