This theory came to be when I was rewatching [[Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica]] and noticed that the setting of Eversion is awfully similar to a witch's labyrinth and its [[BuffySpeak switchy-ness]]. So in my opinion, Zee is a familiar who's working for witch Nehema, and the main reason why you have infinite lives is because there's dozens of Zee Tee familiars around the place like how there were a ton of Anthonies in Gertrud's barrier. To spare you of the complicated theory that I originally planned to write, the gems scattered around are in fact humans and collecting them is the equivalent of killing them, the entire setting of the game is her (Nehema's) barrier, and the Ghuls are either other humans or magical girls.

* In the bad ending, if you didn't kill enough humans, Nehema will have to dispose you since you're not worthy anymore. That, or you get killed by a magical girl.
* In the good ending, because you killed the right amount of humans, Zee becomes a witch himself, this the life cycle of a familiar is complete without flaw.
* Last but not least, in the beige ending/secret ending, Nehema herself gets killed by a magical girl and all the Zee Tee familiars either die out or (Post-Godoka verse) become a part of the Law of Cycles with Nehema as Madoka re-writes them out of reality.

[[WMG: [=ZeeTee=] is actually a robot.]]
A robot designed to look for gems, that is. The ghulibas are actually factory managers that run the factory. But one time, one of the ghulibas was slacking off, and one of the [=ZeeTees=] escaped. Then, the [=ZeeTee=] found a hole in the fabric of reality, went back to the factory, set the [=ZeeTee=] production level to light speed, which explains why [=ZeeTee=] has infinite lives. Then, the [=ZeeTees=] discovered that changing dimensions helped them get the gems they wanted. But then, they started to malfunction, and things turned dark pretty fast. They eventually discovered a little girl's house. The girl wanted to play with them, but the [=ZeeTees=] accidentally stepped into Layer 8. In that layer, the girl destroyed the [=ZeeTees=], causing the entire world to end for some reason.

[[WMG: Eversion and Literature/NESGodzillaCreepypasta are connected somehow.]]
They both have the same concept: seemingly innocent games that slowly delve into NightmareFuel and NauseaFuel. The eversion levels are similar to the events in NES Creepypasta:

Perfectly innocent, nothing wrong going on: X-1 and the beginning of the NES game.\\
Still very innocent, but something is noticably odd: X-2 and the inclusion of Kaiju that didn't appear in the original game.\\
Something is very obviously odd, but still pretty innocent: X-3 and the visual "glitches" in the NES game.\\
Not so innocent anymore, but not fully indulged into NightmareFuel territory: X-4 and Pathos.\\
It's at this point where things are very much obviously and completely ''wrong'': X-5 and the first appearance of Red.\\
[[FromBadToWorse It gets worse. So much worse.]]: X-6 and Entropy.\\
Things completely go to hell: X-7 and Red eating the blue angel.\\
[[NightmareFuel It seriously cannot get worse]]: X-8 and Zenith.

The bad ending is where Tapir himself finally appears in the false form of Nehema, and finally eats him and his soul. In the good ending, Tapir has corrupted Zeetee's soul so much that [[AndThenJohnWasAZombie Zeetee became an]] EldritchAbomination [[AndThenJohnWasAZombie himself]]. The game closing itself at the end? That was the dream, finally consumed by Tapir.

Zee Tee is Coraline, Nehema is the Other Mother. Coraline/Zee Tee decides to go on an adventure one day. Worlds 1-3 represent the size of the house. She/he finds out about the door (flower bush blocking the entrance to 4-5) and uses the key (block) to unlock (destroy) it. Then, (s)he goes into the other world, and eventually gets to the house. But the other mother/Nehema turns into her true form and keeps/eats Coraline/Zee Tee. The good ending is actually bad, since the other mother/Nehema sews buttons into/corrupts Coraline/Zee Tee.
