''Super Dangan Ronpa 2: Good Bye Academy of Despair'' is the sequel to DanganRonpa. Taking place in the same setting as its predecessor, Hajime Hinata, the protagonist, is starting his first day at Hope's Peak Academy, a school he has always admired. However, upon entering the school, Hajime suddenly loses consciousness, and the next thing he knew he's trapped in a classroom with 15 other newly accepted "super" students, gathered for their opening ceremony. They are greeted by a rabbit-like doll Usami, who suddenly declares that they're all going on a school trip. The classroom walls fall apart, and the students find themselves on a tropical resort island of Jabberwock. Knocked to the ground by surprise, Hajime suddenly realizes that he does not remember anything about himself beyond his name, including what his "super" talent is.
