True Art Is Incomprehensible is now an in-universe trope as per TRS (not enough context).

* TrueArtIsIncomprehensible: Invoked, with Youngho considering art subjective, and that's why he tends to slack off in art class. Subverted, when it turns out he's wrong and slacking off gives him a bad art grade.

Unfortunately, Yaesol reports to her superiors that even though they managed to find the culprit (Seho), the Shade has the flute relic, and Youngho is now seen as a possible asset for the Vigilantes. An unspecified time later he ends up in another coma, albeit possibly on behalf of the Vigilantes, and Mina, distraught but determined to save him takes the pendant relic, unaware that Seho is stalking her.]]

* CastFromStamina: Youngho can do a tactical roll or hold his breath as long as he has enough Stamina.
* TheCavalry: When Youngho is cornered by [[spoiler: [[EvilDoppelganger "Miss Song"]] near the end of the game, Yaesol intervenes and gives the protagonist enough time to escape]].
* ChekhovsGun: Before class, Youngho finds a pendant belonging to Ms. Song. He picks it up, and plans to give it to her later. [[spoiler:While in the Coma, the pendant transforms into a cameo locket, and it is his only key out of the dimension]].
%%* ChildhoodFriends: Youngho and Mina.
* CollapsingLair: Near the end of the game, [[spoiler: Coma!Sehwa High]] starts to collapse and crumble into nothing.
* CuriosityIsACrapshoot: The events of the game were jump-started by [[spoiler: Seho's curiosity towards a mysterious girl (who is revealed to be the Shade).]]
* CynicalMentor: Yaesol actively explores the Coma- the dark side of humanity made manifest-and has seen a lot of people die (by [[DrivenToSuicide their own hands]] or another's). As a result, she's rather cavalier about both. But beneath all the snark, she is genuinely trying to help Youngho.
* DarkWorld: Referred to as [[TitleDrop ''The Coma'']]. Youngho is trapped in the Coma of Sehwa High School. While not the same place literally, it is a spiritual reflection of the school's dark side. [[spoiler:The destruction of [=Coma!Sehwa=] does not cause the actual demolition of its counterpart in the real world.]] In the Coma, Sehwa is outwardly corrupted by a dark presence: records of bullying (often written by the victims), and other pieces of confidental information are pinned to its walls. The school's water is tainted, many of the mirrors are shattered, and shadowy parodies of people stalk its halls.
%%* DarkIsEvil: [[spoiler: The Shade.]]
%%* DarkIsNotEvil: [[spoiler: The Noteman is neutral to Youngho.]]
* DeanBitterman: Principal Lee is revealed to be quite a stickler. [[spoiler: She wants to cut down on the school budgets for the music and PE departments.]]
* DissonantSerenity: Justified and downplayed. Yaesol is much calmer about their situation than Youngho, but she's not inhuman or emotionless- just more experienced. She actively cultivates this mindset because it's an effective survival mechanism.
* DrivenToSuicide: Taehoon, as a result of Myung-gil's bullying. It's unclear if he survived the attempt. [[spoiler: In the notes found near the end of the game, it is revealed that the Shade was originally a Sehwa High student who committed suicide to escape from the pressures of life.]]
* DownerEnding: [[spoiler: In four endings, Youngho fails to escape the Coma and is left in a critical condition after experiencing a seizure in real life. He's brought out of Sehwa High in an ambulance.]]
* DudeMagnet: At least three guys are attracted to Mina. Unfortunately, most of them are assholes.
%%* EldritchAbomination: [[spoiler: The Shade and her puppet version of Miss Song.]]
%%* EscapeFromTheCrazyPlace: The Coma version of Sehwa High is filled with [[spoiler: mysterious bloodstains, toxic vines, and corpses. And all its windows and exit doors are locked.]]
%%* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: [[spoiler: The Shade, The Killer and the Noteman]]
%%* EvilCounterpart: [[spoiler: The Shade creates an [[EvilDoppelganger entity that looks like]] [[HotTeacher Miss Song]]]].
* EvilMakesYouMonstrous: The evil shown within the Coma leads to the doppelgangers' appearances getting worse. [[spoiler:"Miss Song"]]'s appearance goes from slightly disheveled hair to turning into a weird abomination with teeth for eyes, tentacle-like hair and unnaturally long arms. Myung-Gil's Coma version has a giant, black hole for a face.
%%* EvilOverlord: [[spoiler: Seho]] saw himself as this after taking control of [[spoiler: the Shade]].
* FetchQuest: [[spoiler: The Shade]] won't stop blocking a particular hallway in the Main Building until Youngho brings her Seho's recorder. The player has the choice of completing several optional side-quests that will affect the game's ending.
%%* FourEyesZeroSoul: [[spoiler: Seho's true nature.]]
%%* FourIsDeath: [[spoiler: As the story progresses, Coma!Miss Song has 4 different physical forms.]]
%%* HandwrapsOfAwesome: Yaesol's bandaged hands.
* HellIsThatNoise: [[spoiler: Miss Song's horrific screeching noises, her menacing footsteps (when she's walking or running), and the terrifying chase music that plays when she spots Youngho. When you enter Sehwa High's North Building, the background music gets even more demented.]]
* HeartsAreHealth: Youngho's health meter is represented by five chalk-drawn hearts.
%%* HeroOfAnotherStory: [[spoiler: Yaesol.]]
%%* HiddenEyes: The reason Youngho doesn't realize initially that there's something off about [[spoiler: "Ms. Song"]].
* HidingInABathroomStall: Youngho can hide in bathroom stalls, though some hallways also have closets he can use.
* HotForTeacher: Youngho is attracted to his teacher, Ms. Song. He fantasizes about dating her.
* HotTeacher: Youngho remarks how Sehwa's male student body believe that Miss Song looks like a KPop idol.
%%* HospitalHottie: Miss Nah.
%%* HunterOfMonsters: It's implied that [[spoiler: Yaesol and her fellow Ghost Vigilantes hunt Shades]].
* HyperactiveMetabolism: Youngho's health can be restored through consuming burgers, chips, chocolate bars, and soda. As for Stamina, it will gradually restored over time, and it can be refilled by drinking water bottles. [[SpotOfTea Drinking tea]] will increase how fast Youngho's endurance will regenerate for a limited time. [[MustHaveCaffeine Canned coffee]] will temporarily grant infinite energy to Youngho. Most of these must be bought from vending machines, but these resources can be also found by scavenging from the school.
* InfiniteFlashlight: Youngho's flashlight never has to be recharged or be given new batteries.
* IHaveYouNowMyPretty: [[spoiler:Seho commanded the Shade to bring Mina to him. The resulting...''thing'' was [[UncannyValley not Mina]], much to Seho's disappointment.]]
%%* ILied: [[spoiler: After Youngho gives the Relic to the Shade, this is her response when she is asked to let Seho go.]]
* ImplacableMan: [[spoiler: The demented version of Miss Young will chase down Youngho until he runs out of stamina. There's absolutely no way to fight back against her; he can only run and hide to evade her.]]
* TheInternetIsForPorn: It turns out that [[spoiler: Headmaster James Mott]] was looking up porn on his computer at Sehwa. When Youngho manages to access his computer, there are two suspicious images that appear on Mott's monitor, which have been heavily blurred with Pixellation.
* KleptomaniacHero: Youngho has to scavenge through the school's numerous hallways and rooms to find the objects he can use. It's the only alternative to having to pay for the goods that you need from vending machines.
* KnifeNut: [[spoiler:[[EvilDoppelganger Miss Song]] wields a box-cutter at first, but later upgrades to a kitchen knife. Yaesol is also revealed to carry her own box-cutter when she attacks Miss Song near the end of the game, in order to buy time for Youngho to escape Coma!Sehwa.]]
* LimitedLoadout: Youngho can only carry a total of 24 consumable items in the 2015 ''Cutting Class'' edition. The backpack space was further reduced to just 'six' item slots in the 2017 ''Recut'' edition.
* LoveMakesYouEvil: [[spoiler: Seho's infatuation with Mina played a significant role in his desire to use the Shade's powers for his own selfish agenda.]]
* MessyHair: Miss Song usually has her hair styled in a neat fashion during the day. When Youngho wanders outside his classroom after waking up (as he fell asleep during his finals), he immediately encounters Miss Song. For any keen players, they will notice that her hairstyle is [[MessyHair slightly messier]] than [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness usual]]. [[spoiler: Aside from her eerie EmptyEyes, the hair is another indicator that this "Miss Song" is an imposter. Her hair also gets even more [[MadnessMakeover dishevelled]] as the story progresses.]]
%%* MsFanservice: Miss Song.
* MsExposition: Yaesol calmly explains to Youngho that he is not dreaming, there really is a killer on the loose, and how to escape the nightmare world.
* MultipleEndings: The game has 5 different endings, though 4 are the same ending, with minor differences that depend on whether the player has or has not completed certain sidequests.
* MundaneUtility: Changes made in Coma!Sehwa ripple into the real world. This fact could revolutionize dimensional theory. [[spoiler: Seho mainly uses it...to cheat academically. (To be fair, though, he ''was'' just testing the phenomenon's existence at that time.) Youngho also has the choice of using the Coma in order to change his grades.]]

%%* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Mr. "Mad Dog" Ma
* NightmareFace: [[spoiler: Coma!Myung-gil has a huge gaping mouth and no face.]]
* NoOntologicalInertia: [[spoiler: Sehwa High in the Coma starts to self-destruct as the Shade grows more desperate to hunt down Youngho]].
* OfficeRomance: [[spoiler: Miss Nah and Headmaster Mott are in a secret, sexual relationship.
