Unlike most point and click adventure games, you are able to control two characters rather than remain as one.
The story begins in 2083, when the planet Argilus is located and found to be abandoned like the ''Mary Celeste'', with unlocked doors and machinery still functioning, but no people. The planet is thus put on immediate quarantine and three science bases are established with First Contact-trained science personnel. When first contact would be made, two personnel, Sam Mainey and Hannah Grant would get a mission briefing. ECS Angel is the first supply drop, but none of the bases respond even though scans show their channels and systems to be working. Captain Sam Mainey moves the ship in for a closer transmission due to the planet's strong magnetosphere, but just after another failed transmission, Sam tries to call it off when Angel's primary systems fail, secondaries don't respond, and the ship is sinking into Argilus' gravity well. So the only option is to use the emergency escape pods. Mainey and Grant abandon ship and launch their pods, but the course is significantly altered and their desinations are far from each other. And that's where the game begins.
