Regardless what you choose, before the next mission, when Alakazam states how dangerous Mt. * IdiotPlot: The Sinister Woods arc. Gengar and Team *snerk* Meanies find out that Caterpie's friend Metapod has gone missing, and challenge the player's team to a race: if Team Meanies finds Metapod first, they get the credit. Butterfree will give them a reward, and Caterpie will join their team. As pointed out by one Let's Player, Butterfree is the mother of ''Caterpie'', not Metapod, and has no reason to give out large rewards- not to mention, she's hardly the kind of person who'd have large amounts of cash on hand. Not to mention, Caterpie is a tiny kid- ''not'' the best recruit for a team planning on taking over the world.

The story, such as it is, concerns the player character who awakens in a world inhabited exclusively by Pokemon, with no memories but their name and the subsequent discovery that they've inexplicably been transformed from a human into a Pokemon. Natural disasters (earthquakes, etc.) have been plaguing the land, and concerned citizens -- er, Pokemon -- have been banding together in "Rescue Teams" to help out Mons in need. The player quickly allies with another Pokemon to form a two-Mon rescue team of their own, while slowly piecing together clues about how and why they got here.

The first entry (or rather, [[OneGameForThePriceOfTwo entries]]) in the {{Roguelike}} {{Pokemon}} spinoff series known as ''VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeon''. Please look at the series' main page for plot details at this point, because this page was recently split off from it. ''Red Rescue Team'' was released for the GameBoyAdvance, while ''Blue Rescue Team'' was released for the NintendoDS, making the latter a form of VideoGameRemake released at the same time as the original... yeah, it's confusing.
