* AwesomeButImpractical: It's awesome to unlock of the most powerful characters...from the comics. While there are some real GameBreaker characters like Phoenix and [[spoiler: Thanos (Infinite)]], there are many that are rather mediocre or have limited use - including all of the hidden characters in the non-DLC infinite such as Magneto, Loki and Thanos. This can be real glaring, especially when many of the best characters are the heroes you get early on such as Thor, Wolverine and the Hulk.

* ManaMeter: The Energy bar. How much energy you have to power your abilities and certain traits, depends on a character's Energy stat. Sadly most heroes have poor Energy ratings and abilities usually consume a lot per use, this is mitigated by your [[RegeneratingMana Energy slowly regenerating over time]] and it recovers much faster when you successfully hit an enemy with basic attacks. They have awful stats, poor synergy and their abilities come with significant drawbacks or are lacklustre in some way. In contrast, bruisers like the Hulk and Colossus are seen as top tier amongst a huge character list. To add insult, the Mastery stat (the stat that affects damage caused by energy or ethereal attacks) is higher in the bruisers than the wizards that depend on that stat.
