''Ion Fury'' (formerly ''Ion Maiden'') is a first person shooter developed by Voidpoint and published by Creator/ThreeDRealms. It's a prequel to 3D Realms and Interceptor Entertainment's ''VideoGame/{{Bombshell}}'', and is meant to be a throwback to older shooters like ''VideoGame/DukeNukem3D'', ''VideoGame/{{Blood}}'', and ''[[VideoGame/ShadowWarrior1997 Shadow Warrior]]''. In fact, it even uses a heavily-modified version of the [[UsefulNotes/GameEngine Build Engine]], making it one of the first commercially released games since Team TNT's ''World War II GI'' (released 1999) to use the engine.

* EasterEgg: A heavily pixelated Linux penguin appears in some of the screens in Haskell's office and lab.
* ExcusePlot: It has fewer story beats than ''Bombshell'' or even ''Duke Nukem 3D'' (which was very light on plot). Basically Haskell, a MadScientist and {{Cult}} leader, taken over Neo D.C., and once they attack Shelly's apartment-slash-nightclub, Shelly has to fight back to survive.
* ElevatorActionSequence: The boss fight against the Mega Brutalizer Twins takes places on a funicular as it is ascending.
