* GameBreaker: Hacking enemies in AR, especially with the upgrade that makes it go twice as fast. The AR hack works on all enemies, stops time whilst you're in AR, has no cost or cooldown (other than taking 50HP of dump shock if all your focus is depleted due to viruses). The hack completely stuns enemies for ~5 second and makes most of them vulnerable to a OHKO from behind. If too many enemies surround you, just stun all of them, unload a few rounds/punches into one, rinse, repeat.

The game follows a nonlinear approach in both gameplay and storytelling, frequently providing multiple ways of resolving quests and allowing the player to develop Dex in any way they see fit. Conversation skills, hacking/augmented reality, melee and ranged combat and even lockpicking can all be upgraded for different gameplay experience.

[[CriticalResearchFailure Using son's spleen for transplantation is not an option, because removing a vital organ from him will cause him to die, leaving the mother wihout anyone to take care of her.]] And no, this is not a con on their part. Overall, the whole quest is either a case of poor writing or a very obscure StealthParody.

!! Dex provides examples of the following tropes:

* BadassLongcoat: Dex always goes around dressed in one.
* CriticalHit: These can be scored during combat, either through luck or by hitting specific areas. Shooting enemies in the head is a particularly reliable way to score one.
* CyberneticsWillEatYourSoul: The idea is scoffed at by Dr. Niles, who does most of the agumentations for Dex and has a bionic eye himself:

* {{Cyberspace}}: Present, and Dex’s abilities at manipulating it are a significant part of gameplay process.
* DialogueTree: Used during the conversations with all characters, and more important decisions have explainer tags like [threaten] or [complete mission].
* FictionalCurrency: Averted. In Harbor Prime, regular dollars remain perfectly valid.
* HeavilyArmoredMook: The police at Harbor Prime, clad in full-body black armour, are this compared to many regular thugs Dex will frequently face.
* GoodOldFisticuffs: Dex is proficient at this, and can defeat even gun-wielding armored soldiers when upgraded. It’s never as fast as just shooting them, though.
* GridInventory: Dex has a rather large one, covering 56 slots, with multiple items of the same type fitting into one slot, and quest-specific items marked in red to prevent the player from accidentally throwing them out. And unlike ''VideoGame/DeusEx'', ammo clips take up slots like any other item.
* GunsAreUseless: Averted. Shooting someone from even a basic pistol kills them in seconds, as opposed to longer and fairer melee. Bullets will run out, however, and new clips cost money, so Dex’ll often have to fight with her fists regardless.
** On the flip side, Dex can be killed quite swiftly by the gun-wielding enemies, too, especially in the early game. Getting the Ballistic Dermal Layer augmentation (which halves the ranged weapon damage) will soon become a priority.
* {{Hammerspace}}: See GridInventory above. It’s just not feasible to carry all of the items Dex can have beneath just a longcoat, especially when you take her unimpeded acrobatics into account.
* HyperactiveMetabolism: Food and the E-Drinks will heal Dex a little when consumed.
* LifeMeter: All enemies have a red bar displaying their health below their sprite, and there’s also a percentage just to the right doing the same.
* NoDiagonalAttack: Averted. Dex can free-aim with a mouse reticule when she’s using guns. The enemies have no problems with firing diagonally too.
* OffModel: A lot of the animations are jarringly low on frames.
* OptionalSexualEncounter: Available for Dex whenever she visits the Aphrodite brothel.
* OptionalStealth: It’s there, also the viability [[UselessUsefulStealth can be questionable]].
* SkyscraperCity: Harbor Prime is one, with a respectable population of 13.8 million.
* ShockAndAwe: There’s the electricity damage inflicted by certain weapons/attacks, and Dex can be augmented with Electrostatic Conductors to make her immune to electrical damage.
* WeakTurretGun: There are some ceiling-mounted turrets that go down quite quickly, but hit hard in return.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: The protagonist herself is just one example.
