[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/artilleryduel_6535.jpg]] ''Artillery Duel'' was a SideView, PlayerVersusPlayer, TurnBasedStrategy ArtilleryGame, released in 1983 by Creator/{{XONOX}} as part of their "Double-Ender" series of two-game UsefulNotes/{{Atari 2600}} and Platform/{{Colecovision}} cartridges. ''Artillery Duel'' does what computers were first built to do back in UsefulNotes/WorldWarII: calculate artillery trajectories. It was the first successful example of a genre that goes back to the mid-'70s (and includes later hits like ''VideoGame/ScorchedEarth'' and ''VideoGame/{{Worms}}'').
