@/TheyCallMeTomu is a troper currently centered out of [[strike:Jacksonville Florida]] [[hottip:*:Screw it, I've moved so many times in the past year it's not worth explaining anymore]], whose occupation used to include being paid to play video games. Except not, because apparently, a start-up firm can avoid any and all debts including back-wages. Possesses a bachelor's in Economics from Wayne State University. Said BA has been 100% useless. Though, at least it allows Tomu to KevinBacon himself to [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Krugman Paul Krugman]]. Claims to be a ChivalrousPervert.

\n* UnreliableNarrator: Varies from campaign to campaign, but a common story element, due to the text based nature of campaigns run by Tomu, is to both include "legitimate" descriptive text, and to include a separate actual narrator whose description of events is tongue-in-cheek (and occasionally different from the legitimate descriptive text).

He, known as Tom to his friends (thus making the moniker something of a misnomer) is prone to starting up numerous RP's (typically DungeonsAndDragons or variants thereof), sometimes in the "Trai Setting," a homemade setting that he's been working on since he was allegedly five, that borrows elements from anime and "the like."

Has a Dungeons and Dragons blog at 5eNow.blogspot.com. To quote Tomu, "My opinions are in blog form; that makes them better than yours."

Currently running (or in the process of starting) Sand, Serpents, and Scales: A Dungeons and Dragons Adventure. The "TheyCallMeTomu: I call you Minions" thread in Troper Coven covers conversations on said topic, whereas sandserpentsscales.wikidot.com includes all the details of said campaign. Go ahead and check it out-the site is totally bare though, so don't expect a whole lot of AWESOME.

!!Chronicles of the Third Eye contains examples of:
* UniversalTropes
* AppealToObscurity The narrator will occasionally reference whatever anime or manga the DM is currently most interested, with full knowledge that the players have no knowledge of this piece.
* CharacterDevelopment With the recent death of "the professor" Dougan De`Vaimer, it remains to be seen whether the silly antics of Shryn and friends will become DarkerAndEdgier
* CrazyEnoughToWork Using mints to counter a poisonous smoke.
* FacePalm Favored technique of Dougan in response to Shryn's antics.
* UnreliableNarrator The "Narrator" of the campaign has, under a number of occasions, made statements about the events of the game that turned out to be false.

Applied Phlebotinum Tropes
* TheDarkSide : Implied that the Assassin Xaphnos was merely a cutpurse and mercenary before being contacted by the "Mysterious Shadowy Benefactor," leading him down the path towards becoming the heroic tier's principle antagonist.
* ElementalAbsorption : The Bleakborn in the Frozen Underground were undead monsters with a chilling touch-that were able to absorb fire damage, but were vulnerable to cold.
* FunctionalMagic : The Free City Eloheim is suggested to be like this to a certain extent, though mostly only for indoor lighting and plumbing.
* LeyLine : The Elves use ley lines for shamanistic magic as well as "mass transit."
* MagiBabble : Combined with AllThereInTheManual, Trai (and Tarroth inparticuarly) has a long history of having pages and pages of yammering on how magic works in the setting-all of which has been renderered by and large functionally irrelevant by the addition of the 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons rules set.
** AllThereInTheManual : The Trai wiki, when it was public-currently made private to avoid spoilers, however.
* MagicAIsMagicA
* PureEnergy : Averted, though only due to AllTheInTheManual explaining that "Energy blades" are actually semi-solid constructs of gel-like material which is hardened by the imposition of the user's will.

Characterization Tropes
* Chekhov’s Skill : Characters acquire "Boons" over the course of play, some of them being rather circumstantially relevant. Be assured that every boon will come into play at least once.
* CommonSense : Averted entirely.
* DarkIsNotEvil : Played Straight with most characters, but averted with Desmond, whose uses both light and dark themed attacks.
* DesignatedProtagonistSyndrome : More true in the original than the rewrite, where Adam Fate was intentionally designed to be generic. So far, Desmond-who largely fills the same role-is definitely the least emotive member of the player cast, though that's not saying much.
* HatesBeingTouched : Shryn, as highlighted in the Xaphnos battle. Too bad the campaign is filled with enemies that use grabbing based attacks.
* ScaryShinyGlasses : Xaphnos' goggles.
* HotBlooded : Shryn
* ImmortalityBeginsAtTwenty : The Elves function like this.
* InHarmonyWithNature : The Elves, again.
* LightIsGood : The Clergy of Lumina, or the "Luminati" are designated protagonists, avoiding the KnightTemplar mentality of the Helmites.
* GenreSavvy, WrongGenreSavvy : Felix De`Vaimer, and Marcusites in general, tend to function like this.

Characters as Devices Tropes
* FantasyCharacterClasses : Being Dungeons and Dragons, this applies in the context of the game itself, and the setting does make mention of certain classes, such as the Golden Knights being Paladins.
* GentlemanAdventurer, GentlemanAndAScholar : Dougan was charactertized as this to some extent.
* GodOfEvil : A number of them, including the God of Vengeance and the God of Depravity and Oblivion.
* OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame : Subverted. Bronze Dwarves are entirely hairless, though they are miners. Silver Dwarves are more typical, though they do not have the mining habits of their western cousins. All Bronze Dwarves are naturally terrakinetic, while are Silver Dwarves are naturally aerokinetic.
* InnocentFlowerGirl : Moriko, the Half-elven "adoptive daughter" of Dougan and his wife Alanna.
* LargeHam : Felix, to the point where he will occasionally break out into song.
* ScaryBlackMan, AngryBlackMan, ProudWarriorRaceGuy, SoulBrotha : Harbek, though the characterization differs from session to session.
* SmugSnake : Every villain ever.

Other Tropes
* GameplayAndStorySegregation
* EarWorm Felix's image song, an Earthbound remix originally called Flying Man, "A Bard's Tail."

Bizarre sense of humor is possessed by-why am I writing this in third person? It's like, every page has to be written in third person, even if it's totally unnatural! Oh well. What was I saying again? TheyCallMeTomu is fond of weird metahumor that makes sense in his mind-not in the minds of anyone who society would generally dub as "sane."
