* [[note]]While I haven't read Creator/MarquisDeSade's works yet (not that I want to), what I learned about them didn't set well with me, considering the fact that glorifying the idea of being a {{Social Darwinist}}ic CompleteMonster who commits atrocities out of [[EvilFeelsGood pleasure]] while arguing from an AppealToNature angle is the complete opposite of the [[WeHelpTheHelpless anti-suffering philosophy]] and concept of UsefulNotes/EthicalHedonism that I propose. I wouldn't recommend reading his works and it's not because I'm a MoralGuardian (in fact, I'm not a fan of Moral Guardians either) but it's for your mental and emotional well-being, due to its physically and ''morally'' depraved contents. Obviously you ''need'' to be 18+ years old '''and''' have a stomach of steel if you want to read his works. Don't get me started on how much of an awful piece of shit Marquis is and how atrocious his actions are, because not only does he write his works to fulfill his vile fantasies and endorse his equally deplorable philosophy, he ''committed'' similar actions his characters have done, none of which I'll be discussing here.[[/note]]

[[folder:Tropes That Apply To Me:]]
* AccentuateTheNegative: Even with a decent lifestyle and acknowledgement of this trope's venomous nature, I still see the worst in everything, especially myself and my worldview. Every single day I am always haunted by my mistakes, no matter how small they are. This trope is probably one of the reasons why I tend to see things in BlackAndGrayMorality...
** I notice this trope also leaks into Wiki/ThisVeryWiki. The massive amount of thought, attention, and effort put into CynicismTropes than IdealismTropes doesn't help, since the former's Category List is more than TWICE AS BIG than the latter's, and that's not including the comparison of wiki visits between GoodnessTropes and EvilTropes (at the time of writing, the former has a mere 1.2K and the latter has almost 23K!).
* ApologizesAlot: No matter how small my mistake is, I tend to apologize immediately.
* BadassLongcoat: I occasionally wear a black cotton trench coat, and it looks pretty neat on me.
** NotSoBadassLongcoat: Too bad I have the physical strength and agility of a goldfish. Besides I rarely wear it.
* BeingHumanSucks: It fucking does. We have a myriad of idiotic flaws, such as a habit of stubbing our toes or biting the inside of our mouths while chewing our food, a body that easily grows fat yet hardly destroys it, a body that literally rots away by time (aka, aging), and a slow brain that not only requires constant reptition to learn, but an outdated brain that is still plagued with dark primitive impulses that we should have rejected a long time ago. [[ArsonMurderAndJayWalking That, and we don't have tails]].
* BerserkButton: Forgive me for writing a [[OverlyLongGag massive list]] with personal opinions, but bear with me: ''[[WebAnimation/IfTheEmperorHadATextToSpeechDevice I have so many things to complain about]]'':
** People unironically pulling off AppealToNature. Here's a link to the [[https://www.reddit.com/r/natureisterrible/ NatureIsTerrible]] [[Website/{{Reddit}} Sub-Reddit]] to show why the further we get away from nature (IE: advanced technology for the benefit of others, easier access to food and medicine, and general convenience), the better. David Pearce, a vegan abolitionist[[note]]anti-suffering[[/note]] Transhumanist, has something to say about [[https://i.redd.it/xx0t18yci8c31.png nature documentaries]].
** Examples of WhiteAndGreyMorality that only detail the villains and why they're not evil while ignoring the heroes and why they're good, despite having the word '''white''' in its title.
** '''FUCKING ESSAYS!'''
*** Finals are also utter abominations that earn my ire.
** Getting disconnected in the middle of coop online games.
*** Bad Gacha Luck of course, especially since I'm a Free-To-Player.
** Forgetting something and not realizing it until it's too late."
** People designing {{Kemonomimi}}s and [[PettingZooPeople Anthropomorphic]] [[FunnyAnimal Animals]] [[InexplicablyTailless WITHOUT their tails.]]
** Doggo Lingo. Saying words like "doggo", "pupper", "frendo", etc. doesn't make you funny at all; it makes you sound annoying and childish. When will you people relearn to [[SuddenlyShouting START]] [[https://www.reddit.com/r/unpopularopinion/comments/dvuyhi/i_hate_doggo_speak_so_much_it_makes_my_blood/ TALKING LIKE ADULTS?]]
** ScienceIsBad and ThePowerOfLove. See ScienceIsGood below to see why I disagree with the former. As for the latter, that trope is not just over-rated; it's sometimes used as an argument (along with AppealToNature) to support the former. [[https://www.reddit.com/r/Star_Trek/comments/fmm1hd/something_i_havent_seen_people_talk_about_much/fl8q1sq/ This redditor explains why SiB is not only idiotic, it reverses technological progress and hurts our visions for a better future]].
*** No offense to people who enjoy ''Anime/BlueGender'' (or at least admire its qualities beyond its {{Anvilicious}} {{Aesop}}) and its creators, but I got ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89jQTcEMsxE pretty livid]]'' after reading its idiotic aesop of "nature good, science bad", [[spoiler:since Mother Gaia is [[DesignatedHero portrayed]] as the BigGood, despite the fact that [[GreaterScopeVillain she is responsible]] for the series' horrific deaths and tragedies by creating BigCreepyCrawlies called The Blue that horrifically killed countless lives. Oh hey, humanity wants to escape Gaia's omnicidal rampage by building a SpaceColony. Guess what happens? Fucking Gaia drives anyone who tries to escape to homicidal insanity, [[StupidEvil even if the excess human population is causing a strain on her]], and if MotherNature wants to solve the OverpopulationCrisis non-lethally, she could go with a SterilityPlague[[note]]I know that sounds initially scary for many, but I can assure you that's much more merciful than getting EatenAlive by giant bugs[[/note]], or at least simply let humans build space colonies without further strife so long as both sides won't bother each other again. I guess Gaia is too much of a salty bitch to let go of [[EvilIsPetty petty revenge]] (aka self-righteousness), especially if doing so would be a win-win solution for both her and humanity in the long run. The worst part is that the heroes decide to kiss her ass by abandoning ''all technology'' that's beyond the middle ages, even if [[InferredHolocaust millions of people]] depending on medical devices due to genetic disorders, permanent disabilities, and diseases will die horribly (or at least struggle even more), essentially making Gaia a SocialDarwinist. To salt the wounds, ''[[KarmaHoudini she wasn't punished]]''. In other words, Gaia is essentially [[VideoGame/{{Xenoblade}} Zanza]] [[UnintentionallyUnsympathetic undeservingly]] portrayed as a "[[VillainWithGoodPublicity force of good]]". If I were to write an AlternateUniverse version of this work, Gaia would and should be a CompleteMonster that deserves to be confronted and '''killed''' by the heroes, especially {{Science Hero}}es who [[ShutUpHannibal call out]] on her [[{{Hypocrite}} hypocritical bullshit]] and counter her fallacious arguments by acknowledging that science can be abused in wrong hands, but [[ScienceIsGood science can also bring great good in responsible hands]] and the reason why humanity is using science to fight against her and the Blue with {{Mini Mecha}}s is because of her "[[MoralEventHorizon solution]]", and if Gaia claims to be the BigGood to "save" all life, the Science Heroes tell her to [[ShutUpHannibal shut up]] with this [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech speech]]: "If you claim to be a [[MotherNature benevolent mother]], then not only would you never start this "solution", [[YouCouldHaveUsedYourPowersForGood you would've make life a painless paradise of infinite bliss]] ever since the first organism was born. [[NatureIsNotNice Instead]], you made life a bloody gladiator game that lasted for over trillions of generations, where every animal suffers and dies for the sake of passing on genes while fearing for their safety. To further worsen this awful game, you [[EvilIsEasy encourage selfishness and ruthlessness]] rather than altruism and compassion for one and another. Along with predators and parasites, you wiped out billions of lives with storms and diseases to make the survivors struggle even more. You're not a benevolent mother; you're nothing but a deplorable, [[HolierThanThou self-righteous]] [[DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans despot]] who [[ItsAllAboutMe values their own pride]] over the well-being of others!"]] [[WallOfText TLDR]]: ''Blue Gender'' should've been "Science good, Nature bad".
** [[BabiesMakeEverythingBetter Natalism]] as a whole. Just because life ''may'' be worth living doesn't mean it's worth starting. Creator/GeorgeCarlin has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvF1Q3UidWM something to say]] about the idiotic and misogynist idea that GoodGirlsAvoidAbortion.
** The idea that [[MiseryBuildsCharacter suffering makes you stronger]], despite the fact that suffering itself is an inherent harm that must be reduced as possible. If anything, suffering destroys character, [[GoneHorriblyWrong one way]] [[GoneHorriblyRight or another]].
-->''Misery builds lots of great characters! [[SarcasmMode The homeless guy who sleeps in a cardboard box, the battered wife, the shell-shocked soldier, the drug addict, the kid who commits suicide at age 10.]] Oh wait it doesn't, [[RealityEnsues it just makes us miserable.]]''
--->--'''Anonymous'''
** Sexism, racism, elitism, and speciesism as a whole.
*** Disrespecting a person based on their gender ([[NoWomansLand especially towards women]]) and using the word "female" as a noun instead of an adjective while using the word "man/men" in the same sentence. It's also irritating in terms of grammar structure.
*** Let's not forget SocialDarwinism, which not only perpetrates those forms of prejudice (and prejudice as a whole), but also sentient suffering, directly or indirectly. I have a deeply low opinion towards the philosophy and its followers, mainly because they use this trope to [[JerkJustifications justify themselves]], (their) [[MoralEventHorizon atrocities]], and horrific tragedies. Expect them to use AppealToNature to back up their "argument". That being said, I will forgive those who drop this psychopathic dogshit excuse of a philosophy.
** [[BadPeopleAbuseAnimals FUCKING ANIMAL CRUELTY]]. [[PaedoHunt Predators]] or other individuals willing to [[WouldHurtAChild harm children]] are just as reprehensible.

** Breaking my mechanical pencil's lead.
** The idea of embracing our [[HumansAreFlawed flawed nature]] and scorning any [[RousseauWasRight capacity for good]] or [[{{Transhuman}} artificial enhancements]] just because they're respectively seen as [[GoodIsBoring boring]] or [[AppealToNature unnatural]] (especially if the ScienceIsBad card is pulled off) is a good way to make my blood ''fucking boil''. It's important to acknowledge human weaknesses (individually and collectively) but ideally we should embrace our strengths, virtues, and capacity for compassion while rejecting our flaws, vices, and capacity for cruelty instead.

[[note]]"One of the things that both annoyed me and propelled me towards the idea of upgrading Humanity wholesale was the once popular catch-all beloved of avant-garde playwrights “The Human Condition”. This was the more intellectualized soap opera where the usual suspects were examining their own suffering in terms of “what it means to be Human”. Again, the aspects of the condition tended to be things like ''jealousy, anger, rage, greed, stupidity, depression, violence…'' the list continues. In fact, what they generally describe are all the things that '''make us sub-Human'''. Things that stem from our evolutionary ancestry. It has been said that we are a halfway stage between apes and angels. '''''I say it is time to edit out the ape and enhance the angelic qualities''''', which are the things which truly distinguish us as Human. They include ''rationality, love, compassion, empathy and intelligence''. None of which make for good drama or exciting shoot-outs."-[[https://medium.com/@dirk.bruere/why-i-am-a-transhumanist-2196e5ae2a7c Dirk Bruere]].[[/note]]

[[note]]"With the money I would have, I would also try to influence trends in technology towards the acceptance of bio-enhancement, and try to influence people to reject the ideas of bioconservatism, because I am sure that has slowed biotech advancement from where it should be by now, if it wasn’t for '''''quasi-mystical ideas, inferring that suffering, disease, and terminal lifespans due to aging are ‘what make us human’'''''. -[[https://www.quora.com/If-you-could-go-back-in-time-what-would-you-change-or-choose-differently Christopher Aaron]].[[/note]]

** The idea of [[IdealHero genuinely good-hearted characters]] being [[GoodIsBoring inherently boring]] in favor of EvilFeelsGood or EvilIsCool. There's nothing wrong with liking villains for their outfits, color schemes, [[EvilIsHammy hamminess]], or abilities, but it's concerning if the bad guys are idolized ''for'' their awful character and atrocities, especially if they made life shitty for everyone else, hero or otherwise. The idea of embracing being/doing evil also rubs me off the wrong way for obvious reasons, [[https://www.deviantart.com/bakertoons/art/Evil-McBadguy-723321867 even if bad guys are not meant to be role models]]. While I do acknowledge and understand that just because you like bad guys doesn't mean you agree with them or their actions, sometimes people still look up to villains and see them as aspiring for the wrong reasons. As Creator/BobChipman would say:
[[note]]This has placed some watchers of the popular culture in a bit of a conundrum. It's clear as day that the film isn't meant as an instructional video on becoming a stock market raider, but it's also clear that - to a pretty substantial chunk of the audience - a lot of what Belfort and company get up to looks like a lot of fun. Immoral fun, maybe. Fun you pay for later, definitely - but fun all the same. Which means that Wolf is probably destined to join Scarface and Fight Club in the pantheon of what I sometimes call "Douchebag Classics," films that draw fiercely devoted fanbases that worship the message and/or lifestyle of a central character while somehow missing that the film in question is meant to be cautionary, not aspirational.[[/note]]

[[note]]It's the uncomfortable grey area of making (or discussing) art that depicts evil, or even simply poor decision making: It may be true that no remotely rational person has ever been "made" to do wrong by a movie, but it's also true that no matter how demonstrably rotten a certain character is, someone is going to look at them and think "Actually, I'm pretty down with that." Sometimes it's understandable: Scarface (both versions) is about depicting a funhouse-mirror corruption of the American Dream and The Immigrant Story, but the basic thrust of Tony Montana's self-made rags-to-riches rise clearly still resonates. Other times it's more baffling: I will never understand how anyone manages to miss that Fight Club is a condemnation (and a pretty heavy-handed one, at that) of everything Tyler Durden says or claims to stand for.[[/note]]

[[note]]Wolf of Wall Street, on the other hand, faces a slightly different problem: It's an honest movie, and the honest truth is that for the most part all of this debauchery and hedonism do look pretty damn appealing - if this stuff wasn't fun to do, they wouldn't have risked (and spent!) what they did in order to do it. These guys and their world are too shallow to contain Tony Montana's neurosis and too "soft" for Tyler Durden's masochism, their vices (cool cars, expensive toys, walking Barbie dolls for trophy wives, etc) are as boyish as their haircuts. They're would-be Warriors of Capitalism who probably identify more with [=Scrooge McDuck=] than Ayn Rand (mostly because it's more likely that they've heard of [=Scrooge McDuck=].)[[/note]]

[[note]]And if you're going to make a movie about these guys and their exploits, you're not being honest if you don't allow that truth to be part of your movie: Fast cars are fun. Boats are fun. Getting away with stuff you shouldn't? FUN. Beautiful women? Duh. Drunken, drug-fueled mayh... eh, you get the picture. It was probably a lot of fun to be Jordan Belfort, and as such no matter how plain the film makes the facts of his villainy there will probably be an annoyingly large number of Bros who decide that Wolf would make for great lifestyle training. Ironically, Belfort's lupine nickname came from a "hit piece" magazine interview that infuriated him... right up until he found out that it had made his firm the number one ticket in town for young go-getters seeking quick riches.[[/note]]

[[note]]This sort of thing is unavoidable, but being honest about bad guys occasionally having intimately relatable reasons for what they do doesn't make this or any other film "aspirational." There will be a large class of idiots who decide that this is their "favorite" movie for entirely the wrong reason - it would be a shame to hold that against the movie, or its makers.[[/note]]

* BlackAndGrayMorality[=/=]CrapsackWorld: Pretty much my outlook on RealLife. As far as I can see in life, good is next to nonexistence yet evil is everywhere. Despite my desire to see its GoodCounterpart, WhiteAndGreyMorality getting [[ADayInTheLimelight more use in fiction]], I see reality on gradients of evil because ''every'' decision you make and desire you have will inflict suffering on another individual to a degree, directly or indirectly, and it's a matter of either reducing that suffering or hiding it. I'm not an exception to the spectrum, which is why I don't see myself as a good person after realizing and regretting my past mistakes, I rarely have opportunities to do good due to my solitary and sedentary lifestyle, and despite my ideals for anti-suffering, I despise myself for being a {{Hypocrite}} by consuming animal products and occasionally killing small arthropods such as flies or ants[[note]]That seems petty at first but this goes against the concept of anti-speciesism where [[AllLovingHero all life deserves compassion and respect]], even to the smallest sentient life form, and the only exception to killing sentient individuals is performing a MercyKill for their well-being[[/note]], even if I reduce them. After seeing a bunch of awful atrocities that happened today and in history, I ''really'' wish we live in a [=WAGM=] universe because [[IdealHero paragons of virtue]] exist, and even the worst individuals are [[AvertedTrope never]] BeyondRedemption, which is extremely rare in our shithole world.
* BrilliantButLazy: As brilliant (and stupid) as my mind and imagination can be, I'm also pretty damn lazy.
* CelibateHero: Romantic love is so overrated, especially since the single life is so much easier, simpler, and just buys more time and energy for myself. The "Hero" part is a stretch since [[RidiculouslyAverageGuy I'm a nobody at best]].
* CharacterAlignment: TrueNeutral according to most tests. Other tests put me in the NeutralGood alignment, but I hardly see myself as a good person (see BlackAndGrayMorality above).
* CreatingLifeIsBad: Even though it's considered a Romantistic Trope, I agree with its basic principle of creating life being immoral, but that's from an anti-suffering and resource-efficiency perspective, which is an Enlightenment take on this Trope instead. That being said, if life is going to be perpetrated anyways, then at least improve the unborn's health and genes through DesignerBaby technology, so that they'll suffer less when they're born. By the way, artificial life deserves the same kindness and respect as any other life.
* DeadpanSnarker: I enjoy making sarcastic quotes, depending on the situation.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: I'm not a fan of sweet-potatoes or raw tomatoes. Spicy food is also on the list of "foods not to eat". I used to hate pineapples, but my opinion on them soften up a little for them. Just don't put them on anything savory, like pizza for example.
* DraconicHumanoid: Obviously I'm not one in RealLife, but it's one of my favorite species in fiction.
* ExtremeDoormat: While insults don't usually bother me, I deeply doubt and put myself down, especially for being weak-willed. That being said, the ideas of self-esteem and self-love are complete bullshit. In fact, [[ThePerfectionist I strongly criticize myself for every mistake that I made, no matter how small it is]].
* FailureHero: Less emphasis on "Hero" and more emphasis on "Failure". If there's an opportunity to do any good, you can bet I'll fuck it up.
* HisOwnWorstEnemy: I have intense feelings of self-hatred that I hide behind through layers of irony and dank memes. I think it's caused by my idiotic mistakes, my resentment for said mistakes, and the fact that my BlackAndGrayMorality outlook on life tells me that nobody can truly be good, including myself.
* IHatePastMe: My own mistakes and regrets made me despise myself, even to this day. I also use to believe that [[AppealToNature organic food is better than GMOs because they're ''natural'', while [=GMOs=] are bad because they're ''unnatural''.]] I'm glad that I grew out of that mentality after doing my research like any person with a Goddamned brain. Hell, I used to be a bit of a bully back when I was in 3rd grade and 5th grade, and I still resent myself for that, especially since the students that I have picked on didn't deserve it.
* JadeColouredGlasses: Seeing horrific shit in RealLife gives you a [[SarcasmMode sweet]] pair of green glasses that are hard to take off.
* KnightInSourArmor: See CelibateHero above and SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism, and especially SillyRabbitCynicismIsForLosers below. It's worth mentioning that this is only me on a ''good day''; otherwise if I can't even do much good in life, I don't deserve to be called a good person at all.
* NightmareFetishist: Let's just say that I have a morbid sense of humor as a result of my self-loathing. I also have some bizarre interest in BodyHorror, MindScrew, {{Surreal Humor}}/{{Surreal Horror}}, and {{Eldritch Abomination}}s, [[EldritchStarship along]] [[AnimalisticAbomination with]] [[BotanicalAbomination their]] [[AngelicAbomination cousin]] [[MechanicalAbomination Tropes.]]
* ProHumanTranshuman: Obviously I'm not a Transhuman (unless if you're talking about the broad definition of Transhumanism), but should I be one, I heavily encourage this Trope's principle: even if you're augmented/enhanced in any way, you should treat your unenhanced peers with great respect and kindness; they're also people who can think and feel. The principle not only applies to humans, [[AllLovingHero but also non-human animals, artificial life, and extraterrestrial life]].
* RidiculousProcrastinator: Downplayed, as I usually get college work done on time, but maybe I'll add context for the Trope Folders.[[note]]The key word is '''maybe.'''[[/note]]
* RomanticismVersusEnlightenment: Despite my jaded outlook on life and myself, I still ''vastly'' favor the Enlightened side over the Romantic side.

** Practically me getting ninja'd by faster Tropers while I hang out in the Game Forums.
* ScienceIsGood: Finally, a GoodCounterpart to say '''''[[TakeThat FUCK YOU]]''''' to ScienceIsBad, an idiotic trope that deserves to be [[DiscreditedTrope discredited]]. While I do admit that science can be abused for selfish/malicious intent, the fault lies on the abuser, not Science itself. Anyways, I think that if properly used with good intentions, science as a whole can help reduce sentient suffering and discover ways to improve life for all.
* SelfDeprecation: This kind of humor is my bread and butter.
** HeroicSelfDeprecation
* SlidingScaleOfIdealismVsCynicism: I'm constantly on a see-saw struggle between RousseauWasRight versus BlackAndGrayMorality for my outlook on RealLife. Unfortunately, the see-saw is siding with the latter. Ever since I wrote and made this page, [[TookALevelInCynic I'm slowly yet surely descending to the cynical end even further]], just as if I wasn't jaded enough.
** SillyRabbitCynicismIsForLosers: That being said, I understand how excess cynicism can be utterly detrimental to not just against yourself, but for others around. It doesn't hurt to have some ideals, but make sure that they're actually achievable within your hands. Also see the final two paragraphs for my unnecessarily massive BerserkButton list. Even with my cynical outlook on life, the stories I brainstorm lean toward the idealistic end. Anyways, don't be (bleak and lazy) like me; be a better person than I am.
*** In the context of fiction, cynical stories can be well-written and thought-provoking, and I can appreciate them from a different point of view. But a constant surge of {{Anti Hero}}es, BlackAndGrayMorality, CrapsackWorld, {{Complete Monster}}s, {{Dystopia}}s, DownerEnding, and so on [[DarknessInducedAudienceApathy can burn you out to an uncaring and apathetic husk of a human being]]. This kind of hopeless cynicism not only makes you feel unable to help make life better for all, but it can create a SelfFulfillingProphecy where the ugliness of life continues to dominate our lives and others. Obviously being a WideEyedIdealist would easily fail and can lead to CondescendingCompassion (which isn't truly idealistic), but that doesn't mean idealism itself can't be mature. Seeing some idealistic tropes like {{All Loving Hero}}es, {{Ideal Hero}}es, WhiteAndGreyMorality, AWorldHalfFull, {{Anti Villain}}s, PostCyberpunk[[note]]It's not an inherently [[IdealismTropes Idealistic trope]], but it can be [[LighterAndSofter uplifting]] in its own way, especially since it [[{{Reconstruction}} fixes the flaws]] that {{Cyberpunk}} exposed.[[/note]], RayOfHopeEnding, HopeSpringsEternal, EarnYourHappyEnding, and so on are not only touching breaks from ugly and boring reality, but they can help make a small nudge for one act of kindness, no matter how small it is.
* SirSwearsAlot: Profanity is pretty common for to use.
** PrecisionFStrike: My preferred kind of profanity, since it's more sophisticated than its more [[ClusterFBomb unsavory counterpart]].
* TheSpock: Or at least I wish to be.
** NotSoAboveItAll
* SpoilerHound: I'm too lazy to offer the time and energy to actually read, watch, play, etc. for other works.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: The humble potato chip, especially Pringles or kettle-cooked chips.
* ValentinesDayVitriol: Let's just say that Valentine's Day isn't my favorite Holiday...
* WeHelpTheHelpless: This is an idea that I value, especially since it [[DefiedTrope defies]] SocialDarwinism, while reducing sentient suffering as a whole. If you're going to make an AllLovingHero, make sure your hero unironically follows this Trope.
