* ScrewedByTheNetwork: The series received little promotion and bounced all over the CBS schedule because the network used it as a cheap filler show. It was never considered appointment viewing but still managed to keep a decent-sized audience because it was the kind of show people would come across and keep on because it didn't require much investment to enjoy. It also helped that the series was almost completely devoid of [[StoryArc Story Arcs]], so most episodes could have been enjoyed even having never seen the series before.

* NamesTheSame: The Warner family has nothing to do with [[WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}} three children that live in a water tower]], or for that matter, Creator/WarnerBros.

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Occasionally, this show is a time capsule of late 90's and early 2000's child culture, featuring references to such shows as ''Music/TheWiggles'' and ''WesternAnimation/BluesClues'', with the latter episode even having Sammy watching said show using a VHS tape. In addition, one episode's plot was centered around Emily Warner's birth being covered by ''A Baby Story'', a popular reality show during that era.
