* ScrewedByTheNetwork: Only the first 8 episodes of ''Hellsing Ultimate'' will air on Creator/{{Toonami}}, as they only have the broadcasting rights to those episodes. This is due to an unfortunate case of miscommunication on either the Creator/FUNimation staff or the Creator/AdultSwim staff, as the production crew behind Toonami were under the impression that they had the broadcasting rights to the last two episodes as well. Fortunately, Toonami will air the last two episodes as part of their December 2014 Month of Movies event.

* SeriesHiatus: ''Hellsing: The Dawn''. Hirano felt like stopping out of nowhere in 2007, and yet Young King Comics did not declare the series as finished nor cancelled.

** Walter's not the first BattleButler role for Motomu Kiyokawa. He also played [[Anime/TheBigO Norman Burg]]. In addition, he's also voiced several older male characters like [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Fuyutsuki]], [[GGundam Dr. Mikamura]], [[Anime/GunXSword Jose]], and [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Laker Randolph]]. [[MyFriendsAndZoidberg And]] [[{{Gungrave}} Dr. Tokioka]]. Kiyokawa would later go on to play [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Valkenhayn]], who is Walter as a werewolf.

** The Major is [[ZetaGundam Kamille Bidan]]. No joke. And his seiyuu also voices [[TheSimpsons Milhouse]] in the Japanese dub of ''The Simpsons''.
** [[YoshikoSakakibara Integra]] has [[LadyOfWar commanded thousands of men before]] as [[MobileSuitZetaGundam Haman Karn]], [[MobileSuitGundamZZ leader of Neo-Zeon]].

** In addition to [[Creator/CrispinFreeman Alucard]], Captain Ferguson is clearly voiced by [[MedalOfHonor Colonel Hargrove]].

*** And Young Walter is [[Manga/FullmetalAlchemist Edward]] [[Creator/RomiPark Elric]]. Or if you want, [[TurnAGundam Loran Cehack]].

* AdaptationInducedPlothole: In his fight with Alucard, Luke is shown to have a strong HealingFactor, surviving a head shot. However he is unable to regenerate his legs. In the manga this inconsistency could be explained by the fact that Casull inflicted the head shot, while his legs were shot off by Jackal. In the OVA, Jackal was the cause of all three wounds.
** For those of you who do not know the names: he used a MUCH better gun for the leg shots in the manga, and a more standard one for the headshot.

** Apparently, Hirano thought Alucard [[UsingYourTeeth cocking his gun with his teeth]] was so cool that he decided to draw it in one of the later chapters.

* FollowTheLeader / HilariousInHindsight: Several incidents in the [[{{Anime/Hellsing}} anime]] are referenced in later chapters of the manga, including [[spoiler:the Jackal's destruction, Alucard "dying", Alucard releasing to his highest for at Integra's behest, England reduced to burning rubble,]] impaling, [[spoiler: Walter]]'s "[[BrainwashedAndCrazy brainwashing]]", and [[spoiler:the revelation that Alucard is Vlad (III) Dracula]]. [[YouShouldKnowThisAlready Even if some were obvious]].

** Fake Italian in the case of Enrico Maxwell, who is played by Englishman JB Blanc (who coincidentally, used to live with Steven Brand).

** In English, [[GhostInTheShellStandAloneComplex Togusa]] is a literally bloodthirsty immortal monster, and in Japanese [[Manga/HayateTheCombatButler Hayate]] is an ambiguously-gay-Nazi-cat-boy-scout-paradox.

* MeaningfulReleaseDate: The US boxset for Episodes 5 through 8 were released on Vlad the Impaler's birthday (November 13).

** Also averted with Walter (Ralpha Lister, who is from then-British Hong Kong)

* RelationshipVoiceActor: On the less well-known side of things, JB Blanc, Victoria Harwood and Steven Brand - the dub voice actors for Maxwell, Integra and Anderson respectively - have known each other since the 80s. According to the DVDCommentary for OVA 3, during the casting for the original anime series, Steven Brand brought Victoria in, and Victoria brought JB.

*** And the official US releases were worse, with the original license holder going bankrupt, the gap between releases was 4 years, with two Blu-Ray/DVD sets compiling the eight [=OVAs=] so far finally being released in October and November 2012 after the release of the DVD for episode 4 in September 2008.

* HeyItsThatVoice: [[Creator/CrispinFreeman Alucard]] and [[Creator/KariWahlgren Rip Van Winkle]] contributed their voices to VideoGame/TalesOfSymphonia as Regal Bryant and Raine Sage. Despite being voiced by different people in [[VideoGame/TalesOfSymphoniaDawnOfTheNewWorld the sequel]], this makes it HilariousInHindsight that Raine and Regal are [[spoiler: falsely]] implied to be in a romantic relationship. Speaking of said sequel, Schroedinger and female lead Marta Lualdi [[Creator/LauraBailey share a voice actor]], as does Marta's father, Brute, with Enrico Maxwell via Creator/JBBlanc. Pip himself is voiced by Creator/YuriLowenthal, who voiced main protagonist Luke Fon Fabre [[spoiler: and Asch]] in VideoGame/TalesOfTheAbyss. And if you played ''JeanneDArc'' PSP game, [[Creator/KariWahlgren Rip]] and [[Creator/YuriLowenthal Pip]] will ''really'' sound familiar.

** Hans Gunsche and Avondale Napyeer, fannames for Captain and Doc, respectively.
*** Montana Max and Hans Gunsche come from the prototypes of the characters in older works. On the back of volume 5, you can see a small drawing of some papers with Major's face on it with some reading "Montana Max".

* MeaningfulReleaseDate: The US boxset for episodes 5 through 8 were released on Vlad the Impaler's birthday (November 13).
