* ThrowItIn: In the scene where O'Hara (Robert Wall) is beaten by Lee, Lee delivers a flying kick to O'Hara. Wall and Lee had decided that Lee should deliver a real flying kick to add authenticity to the scene, as Wall knew how to take the hit. They had not planned for wall to go flying back into the extras, knocking them all over and actually breaking one's arm.

* CastTheExpert:
** The hundreds of extras needed to play derelicts were real derelicts from the streets of Hong Kong.
** There was a problem finding actresses to play prostitutes, so real prostitutes were hired for the film.

* HostilityOnTheSet: Fights broke out onset between stuntmen and extras hired from rival families of Triads.

* NeverWorkWithChildrenOrAnimals:
** The praying mantises were flown in from Hawaii. When they arrived, they refused to fight.
** The crew had a very difficult time getting the cat to sit still on the guillotine.
** When Creator/BruceLee held the poisonous snake that guarded the secret entrance to Han's drug lab, the snake bit him. Fortunately, the snake's venom gland had been removed.
* NoStuntDouble: The only times Creator/BruceLee was doubled for the scenes where he was required to do backflips.

* RealLifeRelative: Linda Lee Caldwell, Creator/BruceLee's wife, has a short cameo as a partygoer at Han's banquet. She appears in a purple dress and is walking around among the banquet servers and entertainers.

* RetroactiveRecognition: Future martial arts stars Creator/JackieChan and Creator/SammoHung have small parts. Chan appears three times in the film. He is one of Su Lin's attackers (she knees him in the groin), and twice later, towards the end of the film in the big cave fight scene. Lee grabs his hair for a while before breaking his neck; he is also one of the stuntmen that Lee hits when he wields two sticks (according to Chan himself). Hung is Lee's sparring partner during the fight before the opening credits.

Hey Its That Guy and Hey Its That Voice examples are being cut per TRS.

* HeyItsThatGuy -
** One of the thugs that assaults Roper on the golf course is Pat E. Johnson, a student of Chuck Norris best known as the referee from ''TheKarateKid''.
** Jackie Chan is a Mook who gets his neck snapped by Bruce Lee. Considering his age at the time and the fact that he's an extra, it is difficult to tell. It's easier to spot once you know when it occurs (it happens as Lee infiltrates the lab, and is the only NeckSnap to occur during that scene)
** Tony Liu, who played Hsiao Chiun, the boss' son in ''Film/TheBigBoss'', and had roles in the other two Lee Hong Kong films, plays a combatant who at first gives Roper a run for his money.
** [[Film/IndianaJonesAndTheTempleOfDoom Lao Che]] is Lee's master at the Shaolin Temple.
** The BigBad from ''{{Film/Bloodsport}}'' practically plays the same character but as TheDragon. This one is easy to notice since he apparently didn't age between 1973 and 1988.
** Sammo Hung is Lee's sparring partner in the opening scene.
** [[Film/ANightmareOnElmStreet1984 Roper would help kill a child murderer that would come back from the dead and get revenge by terrorizing the dreams of his daughter.]]

** When the extended Cantonese/Mandarin versions were released for the first time in English in 1998, some extra dubbing had to be done, because no English dialogue existed at that time for those scenes. One of the scenes involved Roy Chiao (Shaolin Abbott) and Bruce Lee. Chiao was still alive (he died shortly thereafter), and was able to dub himself, but Lee's voice was supplied by Bruce Lee biographer John Little. Luckily, Lee's real voice was left alone for the scenes that originally used it.
