Professional artists drawing for a living, and any others also aiming for a professional and serious image, do not want potential clients from offsite to go to the website to look at their portfolio only to see that their avatar is a "Herd u liek Mudkipz" avatar. That is very embarrassing, awkward to try and explain, and can drive away clients.
