** Creator/MotomuKiyokawa died in 2022, leaving Valkenhayn R. Hellsing without a Japanwsw voice actor. Unlike Kagura Mutsuki, it's currently unknown if Arc System Works will recast him or retire him altogether.

* PlayingAgainstType: Creator/SpikeSpencer voices Arakune in the English dub. Yes, he went from playing depressive teenagers, to an insane EldritchAbomination.

* TeasingCreator: Mori Toshimichi ''likes'' to tease or act like a TrollingCreator when the subject is about the playability of [[EnsembleDarkhorse Kokonoe]], especially when the fanbase tends to be rather unpleasable. Fans were asking for Kokonoe so much, that Valkenhayn's "Help Me, Professor Kokonoe!" segment in ''Continuum Shift Extend'' exists only to poke fun at the entire ordeal. The reveal that Kokonoe would indeed become playable rescinded things a bit, but only for the [=PS3=] fans, as 360 fans will not only miss out on Kokonoe, but ''Chronophantasma'' entirely. Following that, Kokonoe turned out to be [[GameBreaker broken as hell]] and Mori refuses to rebalance her for ''CP'', so--depending on how much you care about tiers vs. character playability--[[BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor the [=PS3=] fans still may have ended up being trolled despite their "wish" coming true]]. After Kokonoe's playable and rebalanced, repeat ad nauseum... except to her father, Jubei. When Jubei was announced, there has been another problem for fans to complain: NoDubForYou. Still, he clearly gets off the tears of the complainers.

* TheWikiRule: [[http://blazblue.wikia.com/wiki/BlazBlue_Wiki As expected,]] but be aware that almost a decade's worth of {{inconsistent dub}}s and localization has resulted in the wiki using the original terms translated from the Japanese version. For example the "Azure Grimoire" is now the "Blue Grimoire" so be ready for there to be some clash of terminology if you've never been there before. * StillbornFranchise: While the series is doing fine for the most part, its spinoff ''[=BlazBlue=]'' Alternative: Dark War'' would ultimately shut down by the end of January 2021, just a year after its release, even though it had much more content planned down the line.

* MarthDebutedInSmashBros: Celica and Naoto actually debuted in a series of light novels (''LightNovel/BlazBluePhaseShift'' and ''Bloodedge Experience'' respectively) that are never localized outside Japan. So overseas-wise, the two characters debuted in ''CP'' and ''CF'' repsectively. Confusingly, they are actually plot-important characters who have ties with a good number of the cast, and their stories in the games plays off the stories in the novels which occidentals have little to no knowledge about.

Though subverted with Creator/KanakoKondo (Noel & the Murakumos), despite practically being in the main spotlight and Noel is incredibly popular, Kanako Kondo has yet to appear in many other anime/VG series. ** English-wise, in a bizarre inversion of the Japanese version, this is ''the'' definitive StarMakingRole of Creator/CristinaValenzuela (Noel and the Murakumos) as afterwards, she rose from "internet voice acting celebrity in some minor dubs" into one of the most popular voice actresses at this age. A lesser version also exists for Creator/LaurenLanda (Litchi), as while she hasn't made as big a jump as Vee, her role here is considered the one role where people start recognizing her. This also promotes Creator/PatrickSeitz (Ragna) from just "that voice actor" into this "OMGAWESOMEVOICEACTOR.", especially whenever BadassBaritone is concerned and needed.

* CreatorKiller: The failure of ''[=BlazBlue=] Alternative: Dark War'' likely contributed to creator Toshimichi Mori leaving Arc System Works in September 2022.

* PigeonholedVoiceActor: This is not the first time Creator/YuuichiNakamura voiced a {{Jerkass}}. The moment you see the shit Terumi does, however, you will realize that this is his pigeonholed role taken way [[RefugeInAudacity past eleven]], to [[TheSociopath psychopathic]] levels.
** Amane: Did someone say DudeLooksLikeALady? Because I'm voiced by Creator/AkiraIshida, just so you know.

* ExecutiveMeddling: Creator/ArcSystemWorks does '''''not''''' like it when people post story-related videos, be they merely Arcade mode playthroughs or even ''joke endings'', and they also don't like it when people upload any of the music from their post-2012 games. This also applies to their flagship series ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear''. You either have to play the story yourself, or shell out the cash to actually buy their soundtracks, which have been reported to have shipment issues since they only distribute through one online store and don't bother to put any of their music on services like Amazon or [=iTunes=].

** The main series has entered this as of the 2020's. For reference, the last main entry in the series, Central Fiction, was initially released in 2015. Kind of justified as it was the GrandFinale for the story arc to that point, and Arcsys would shift their focus back towards Guilty Gear as their flagship series. It would get two spin offs in the form of the aforementioned ''Dark War'' and VideoGame/BlazblueCrossTagBattle however.

* NoDubForYou: ''Central Fiction'' did not get an English dub on the basis that it would have delayed the game by six to seven months, running the risk of missing out on EVO 2017. Many fans regard it as a crummy decision and Patrick Seitz, Ragna's voice actor, was particularly disappointed. The massive fan outrage at the lack of a dub likely played a role as to why ''Cross Tag Battle'' got one.

* CreatorsFavorite: Noel Vermillion. She's the mascot character of the series, and admitted favorite of Arc System Works producer Toshimichi Mori. She even became the central character in ''VideoGame/BlazBlueContinuumShift''. The only thing saving her from CreatorsPet status is that the fans don't (mostly) hate her. He also mains Hakumen.

* DoingItForTheArt: The only explanation for Idle Animations in a fighting game. They will never be seen in normal/serious gameplay.
** Creator/SpikeSpencer was originally told that Arakune's strange voice problem would be created in post-production, but insisted that he replicate the effect of his voice cutting in and out directly in the sound booth. That's what you hear in the game. (He claims to regret this because he was being paid by the word.)
