** The Tom King run of Batman attempted to give one to Alfred; Cucumber Sandwiches. In a bit of a twist, it isn't quite that Alfred is constantly eating them ''himself,'' but he insists on making them constantly for the other members of the Bat Family. The punchline being that nobody else really likes them very much, but because Alfred's been making them through all of their respective childhoods, nobody has the heart (or the nerve) to ask him to stop. Even Bruce.

When questioned on this preference by Gambit, she reveals it overlaps significantly with ComfortFood: She was allowed only very bland fare by the Facility, so eating spicy foods is a way to distance herself from her DarkAndTroubledPast.
* ''ComicStrip/DennisTheMenaceUK'': Dennis has a friend called Pie-Face, who is obsessed with pies.

* Captain Haddock of ''Franchise/{{Tintin}}'' loves Loch Lomond Whisky, until Prof. Calculus does something about it.

Sometime after the fall of Cobra, Torch eventually went into the business of making the stuff himself with the wildly successful "Uncle Winkin's Hard Grape Soda Company".
