* Cosmos' and Musashi's goodbye. Musashi begs Cosmos to stay with him and protect monsters, to help him "fly" like Cosmos did when Musashi was a young kid. But Cosmos reassures him that he is kind and strong enough to preserve peace on Earth all on his own before departing with Chaos Header into outer space.

* Shown on the right is Ultraman Cosmos' own public announcement to the viewers in Japan, made after actor Taiyo Sugiura's wrongful arrest by the police officers, which severely tarnishes the reputation of the series. Even if the children had no idea of what happened, its heartwrenching to imagine their sad faces not being able to watch Musashi on television while the series were given an abrupt end with two episodes without Taiyo's character, Musashi. Although the charges were dropped three weeks later, five episodes of the series were forcefully pulled out in order to keep up with the airing block's period.

* Episode 9: Yamarawa's entire backstory and the tragedy of its love and care for children.
* Episode 11: While it's a heartwarming moment, the moment where Mudon is reunited with her baby counts, an illusion of it conjured by Cosmos so she can see her baby again, she cries tears of joy at the sight and then reaches for its hand, once she takes it she disintegrates into dust along with her baby, her spirit finally in peace and able to reunite with her family in the afterlife, both audience and the characters in-universe shed tears at the sight of the reunion.
* Episode 42: Shunji Horimura is TheAloner mid school student who distanced himself from others when his old friends are accepted into different schools, making him socially awkward around his classmates. All these changes when he found Sol, an alien who also shares the pain of FriendlessBackground and the two became fast friends. Unfortunately by the end of the episode, Sol's communication was permanently severed, reducing Horimura to tears that he would find his late friend by growing up into becoming an astronaut. What follows after this is a SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments where he made his first step in befriending his new friends.
* Episode 51: Mazalgas dying from its injuries right after being purified by Cosmos, considering how the creature was an innocent monster who was even helping humanity against Chaos Header, yet the JADF's refusal to view Kaiju as anything but enemies to be destroyed lead to its death.
* Episode 53: The death of the baby Arados, who sacrifices itself to save Cosmos from Ragstone Mechalator and Alien Nowar. Its death hits Cosmos hard enough that the normally peaceful Ultra wordlessly ''destroys'' Alien Nowar's ship with him on it for it.
* Episode 65: Musashi's desperate desire to reason with Chaos Header instead of killing it, once he sees that there's responses from its heart.

Being a LighterAndSofter Ultra Series doesn't mean that its immune to the TearJerker territory.
