--> '''[=MisAnthroPony=]''': This is the Discord they retconned in the finale. A humble draconequus who was actually regretful and apologetic of his misdeeds, seeing the error of his ways and actually learning his lesson. 2 seasons before, Discord saw himself at the top of the world, but Tirek came along and brought him down to the Mane 6' level, which helped him discover some humility. The reason he teamed up with Tirek was because he was being offered freedom, something he longed for as a creature of chaos, one who was never allowed to use his powers while the Princesses were around. His judgment was understandably clouded by this because it was something that was established to be part of his character, something he sought after since his first appearance. Expressing his chaotic nature, the very thing that defines him, was something that he couldn't have while playing by the ponies' rules. The trinket that Tirek gave him symbolized a sense of loyalty and trust, something that had value to Discord since he thought of Tirek as a companion who appreciated his chaos and didn't look down on him. It made sense for him to be fooled by this because he had a very vague idea of what friendship was. So when it seemed like Tirek actually cared, it meant something to him. It was something he didn't have with Fluttershy. He didn't have both a faithful companion and the freedom to express himself. He believed with Tirek, he could have both of those things. And because of his flawed conception of how friendship worked, he couldn't see Tirek backstabbing him the way he did. So when he realized he was being played from the beginning, it seriously got to him. He was made emotionally vulnerable because Tirek knew how to manipulate him. The purpose of this scene was to add to Discord's character arc in Season 4. Being betrayed by Tirek help highlight his naivete and helped him to learn how trust and loyalty works. He unthinkingly betrayed the others but then came to experience the same feeling himself, leading him to regret his actions. Before, he had a basic and generic idea of how friendship worked, but this helped him to look deeper into its value. And now that he had an actual understanding of the thing he was abusing, he didn't believe he deserved it, which leads him to feeling guilty for betraying the Mane 6. And what makes it genuine is that Discord actually starts acting honest, letting feelings he usually keeps to himself out in the open. Behind his chaotic mask, he shows that he really does care. And the exchanges he had with Fluttershy were great. He poured his feelings out for her to see, not afraid to express how badly he felt about betraying her. But after being betrayed to Tirek, she still didn't give up on him, and the part with him apologizing and her accepting it, while brief, was filled with raw emotion, Discord being powerless and full of regret, and Fluttershy acknowledging his regret but being too hurt to say anything else. This one little scene was extremely powerful, and it expresses more character from Discord than all of his god-awful scenes from the finale combined. And his apology to twilight as he gives her the necklace emphasizes just how much he's making an effort to make a change for the better. He learns that all the crazy antics don't matter if there's no one he cares about to share them with. He shows that he was feeling sorry for the friends he turned his back on rather than himself. The amount of guilt he felt around Fluttershy was really heavy on him, which makes it more commendable that he's letting these feelings out. It's a sharp difference between this scene and his behaviour throughout Season 4 which underlines his vulnerable state much more. Seeing him fall back into his old ways but pulling himself back up was a really good stepping stone for him, and the end of the episode emphasizes that he still has work to do. It's why his development from Season 5 and onward hold meaning because he actually worked for his reformation over time. In spite of his knowledge of the elements, he didn't quite understand how these individual entities contributed to friendship, which is why he had trouble understanding it until the end of the episode. It's pretty telling that Discord was struggling to understand it and it's only after what happens with Tirek that he finally truly understands what friendship actually is. It helped to reinforce his character growth and story, giving it a good conclusion. This was a proper reformation for Discord. It really felt genuine like he actually changed. This was incredible character development, and it's the character development they so wilfully trashed in the finale. And before you say this was 5 seasons ago and the writers can't remember every single mundane thing that happened in previous episodes and seasons, this was still a key moment in the series as well as Discord's character.

This was incredible character development, and it's the character development they so wilfully trashed in the finale. And before you say this was 5 seasons ago and the writers can't remember every single mundane thing that happened in previous episodes and seasons, this was still a key moment in the series as well as Discord's character. Of all the things that happened in previous seasons, this was something they should have had in mind when they were deciding on this stupid plot twist. Not just turning Grogar into a ratings trap, but also what it would mean for Discord's growth over all these years, but they didn't consider it and for that, this twist comes across as a huge retcon and a giant piece of character assassination. The Discord at the end of "Twilight's Kingdom" would never have done any of the bullshit that the Discord in this 2-parter did. There's no consistency between any of these 2 Discords. It's just as bad as how Pinkie was portrayed in "Yakity-Sax", restarting everything that makes her character what it is for the sake of a story idea they didn't properly think through. But as where Pinkie was able to recover from this in following Season 8 and 9 episodes, this was the final storyline in the entire show. There's no chance for Discord to recover from this because there is nothing after this! Discord does nothing of significance in "The Last Problem" so there's no indication that his character developed after this massive fuck-up! Maybe there will be some kind of development for him to make up for this in the Season 10 comics, but that's even if people are willing to consider taking those as canon. And as it stands, this is literally how they decided to end Discord's character arc in the show: betraying his friends, manipulating them, planning an attack on them, committing dozens of severe crimes in between, and it all just makes him look like a horrible, awful person! This is not the Discord that I grew to love in episodes like "Dungeons and Discords", "The Best Gift Ever", "The Break-Up Breakdown", "Discordant Harmony" or "To Where and Back Again". This is a completely different character with no believable personality or motivation, a Discord that just causes problems without thinking things through, and not owning up for any of the mess he made! No matter how you look at it, no matter how you slice it, no matter what they might have been trying to do with Discord's character with this poorly thought-out twist, it's a complete disrespect to how he was built up throughout the series! It's a straight-up insult to everyone who is a fan of his character, and it's just bullshit!

Part 3 however is ''heartbreaking'' by showing Blight stealing Golden's colors and making him a selfish JerkAss who doesn't ''care for Keyframe'' and then removing Key's colors and making her unsure and not confident of herself. The fact Golden acts ''[[LackOfEmpathy he doesn't care anymore about anything or even Keyframe]]'' makes it more saddening.

* Digi's departure, especially considering ''immense'' InternetBackdraft when it came to his attitude towards Season 4's finale and insulting Josh.
** It's safe to assume that when it comes to [=Keyframe=], she is now considered '''TheWoobie''' of the entire community.

* Lightning Bliss' review of the ''WesternAnimation/RainbowBrite'' reboot. By the end of the review, she is completely broken. Luckily, [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming Golden Fox and Toon Kritic are able to comfort her]].
** What's makes this even more sad is that Bliss' crying is real. ''WesternAnimation/RainbowBrite'' was a big part of her childhood, and was even the inspiration of her OC, so the reboot was really difficult for her to watch.
* The [=ToonKriticY2K=] scandal. In January 2018, it was discovered that Toon had engaged in sexual roleplaying with a 14-year old girl in the Phillippines. This resulted in a massive BrokenPedestal throughout the community. Keep in mind, this is not a fictional storyline, it's ''real''.
** The worst part is some people blaming the rest of the analyst's for Toon's behavior, as if it's their fault in some way. In actuality, they were seriously hurt and felt betrayed by what happened, and ultimately personally turned him into the authorities despite the obvious emotional pain that comes from it.

* After Joshscorcher reviewed "Newbie Dash" with Thespio, Lily Peet made a Glass of Water video entitled "Guard Break", in which she accused Josh of advocating harmful attitudes about bullying, as well as not being a real marine since he never actually served a tour of duty[[note]]Josh explains it was because he joined the USMC during a period of active downsizing, though he still received military training regardless of this fact.[[/note]], and calling him a "malignant human cancer" who deserved death for defending Rainbow Dash's treatment in the episode. Josh's subsequent response video refuted several of Lily's claims and went into greater detail about how their friendship fell apart, including how Lily had been '''cyberbullying''' Josh for the past several months. Special mention goes to when Josh talks about how he misses his friendship with Lily, with audible sadness in his voice as though he's trying not to cry. Hearing how things ended between them is nothing short of heart wrenching.
** Josh wasn't the only one who Lily constantly harassed in the months leading up to the release of "Guard Break". Within his response video, he also mentions how Lily called for her fans to create rule 34 artwork featuring Ink Rose and KP and send them to Ink in order to chase her off the internet. Why? According to Josh, it was because Ink disagreed with Lily on the idea of Link from Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda being female.
** The worst part about all of this? Even after Josh offered an apology to Lily for how their friendship ended up (despite it not technically being his fault) and despite the accounts of proof Josh provided in his response video, Lily still continues to justifies her actions, and even called Josh's video an attack on her, even though she also claims to have not seen the video at all, and apparently continues to throw obvious malicious Take Thats at Josh.

* April 9th, 2015: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8z2C0smR0U This video foreshadowing what's to come.]]
* June 6th, 2015: Drowning in Horseshoes not only leaves the fandom (something he has been planning to do for a year now) but he made [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvKfl2diktk an almost-2-hour-long video]] explaining how THE FANS ruined the community by becoming elitist, selfish, and uncertain of what they want, never got his videos, and how he orchestrated the death of the analysis community behind closed drapes by forming a "Horseshoe crew" comprised of the most notable analysts at that time.
** It should be noted that Drowning In Horseshoes is usually known for his MindScrew elements, so it's ''unknown'' if he was either mocking MLP Analysis or he really performed a KickTheDog moment.
* June 7th, 2015: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVA1-r4VYKs Tommy Oliver leaves the fandom]] in a RageBreakingPoint. In blaming the fans for disagreeing with him too much, he actually made things worse because he's basically acting the same way they were and letting them win his arguments. Maybe next time one shouldn't try to ''earn a legit living'' off of Patreon-funded videos that are governed by the unpredictable opinions on your patrons.
** It should be noted however that due to Tommy's ''immense'' BaseBreaker status, this is considered a RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgment, especially to those that consider Tommy [[TheScrappy a scrappy]] within the community.
** It pretty much boils down to Tommy flat out being a full fledged JerkAss for some, due to the fact he called the fandom "pathetic", despite that while he was planning his exit, the fandom had [[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming saved animator/beloved member [=KeyFrame=] from her abusive household]]. Sad to say, Tommy's departure was met with "Good riddance" instead of disappointment..
** Tommy has apologized for the video in September 2015, but he still won't officially be part of the fandom anymore.
* June 10, 2015: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7vnXgTL5sw&feature=youtu.be #SaveKeyframe Aftermath.]] Holy shit the [=#SaveKeyframe=] aftermath. When Keyframe herself talks about her [[AbusiveParents abusive home life for the past six years]] at the 12:58 mark, from talking about the various awful things she's been through to just the sheer gratefulness in her voice to [[CrowningMomentofHeartwarming all the people who helped her,]] it's hard to not choke up about it.
** The way that Eliyora describes what Key's AbusiveParents put her through. The sheer ''hatred'' in her voice makes it clear how hard it was to put up knowing a friend was going through. Especially mentioning that she came close to [[DrivenToSuicide committing suicide]] due to the abuse.

* December 27, 2016: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsATn-hSoQE&feature=youtu.be DaWillstanator/Thespio's mother passed away due to cancer.]] She will be missed.

* [=MisAnthroPony=]'s ''immense'' InternetBackdraft he suffered during his beginning of his channel. While his Byter and Cuddlepug rants were mostly well received, he got immense flack for his [=LethalAuroraMage=] rant, as it was filled with CriticalResearchFailure. And then [[FromBadToWorse his rant on Golden Fox came out]]. And suffice to say, the InternetBackdraft he dealt with is an '''{{Understatement}}''', as it caused some of his fans to be disgusted by his rant and ''even'' Josh Scorcher and [=AnYPony=] lost respect for him. Unfortunately for MAP, his rant on Golden Fox was hit during the time that the [=KeyFrame=] aftermath was occuring, which ''he didn't even know about''. MAP ended up [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone having immense guilt over his actions]] and finished up his rant videos on [=DigiBro=] and Tommy Oliver with a more relaxed and less angered manner. His best attempts to help [=KeyFrame=] during her situation garnered him some more respect, as well as when appearing on [=ForNoGoodReason's=] retrospective videos got him some more love, [[EarnYourHappyEnding even later on stated he and Golden Fox and [=LethalAuroraMage=] are on better terms]]. That being said, a lot of MAP's InternetBackdraft is depressing, considering it's later on revealed he has a ''big'' guilt complex and sometimes still beats himself over what he did.

* [=MisAnthro=]'s entire confessional video series can get pretty emotional at points. In regards to the chapters surround MLP and it's fandom:
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wOP80EXQ4Q Chapter Six explores his perception of the drama within the fandom and Analysis]]. He seems so dissolute from the community he once thrived to be a part of and becomes increasingly more cynical and upset when he talks about the Analysis Community's NeverLiveItDown moments from the "Equestria Games" debates to the community's obsession with slamming Pinkie Pie in later seasons due to [[YouKeepUsingThatWord "Flanderization"]]. [[FromBadToWorse Then he touches upon the incident with Filli Vanilli]]. He completely '''[[RageQuit RAGES]]''' to the point where it sounds like he's tearing his room apart, shouting "'''IT WAS ALL A COMPLETE FUCKING WASTE OF TIME!'''" and begins to berate himself over defending the fandom and Analysis community, ripping into '''everyone''' such as Josh Scorcher, [=ToonKritic=], Byter, Tommy Oliver, Lily Peet, FNGR, and ''that's'' to name a few. To say it's a depressing video is an ''understatement'', especially to those who feel dissolute from the fandom and Analysis as well.
** Then comes Chapter Eight recapping the guilt he feels for his rants. It ends with him breaking down, crying and apologizing to the analysis community, with at first realizing the [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone effects his rants had on everyone]] and then [[BreakTheCutie breaking down at it]], asking for forgiveness.
** If you really think about it: MAP's rants were misguided attempts to get the community to understand it's (at the time anyway) problematic issues it had, but instead made him look like a JerkAss with a SmallNameBigEgo complex, especially considering how callous MAP acted towards the reviewers he slammed and causing support from [=AnY=] and Josh to sever and everyone else seeing him as a bully. No ''wonder'' MAP is shown with a GuiltComplex considering the HeelRealization.
** MAP's confessional regarding his damaged friendship with [=AnY=]. Especially considering Anthro considers [=AnY=] to be one of the most original MLP Analysis members and feeling guilty for ruining a good friendship they had. Whether [=AnY=] forgave him (considering his critical comment in the video) is unknown to say the least.
** [=MisAnthro=]'s critical but apology video to Ben Saint after his brutal rant critiquing him and the Procrastinators over mocking the community and ''especially'' [[BerserkButton Keyframe's situation]]. While he spends half of the video pointing out his mistakes and also critiquing their response video on his own video, MAP ends up admitting he feels broken over feeling he destroyed his promise to not be so angry and asks Ben to start over, even if he admits they probably won't.

** What's makes this even more sad is that Bliss' crying is real. ''WesternAnimation/RainbowBrite'' was a big part of her childhood, and was even the inspiration of her OC, so the reboot was really difficult for her to watch.
* The community was ''hit hard'' with the news of Keyframe's sick father passing away. Take out the fact that while he didn't help matters during the time Key was being abused by her mother, he still was one of the reasons she took interest in art, and even Keyframe kept updating everyone after leaving to California that he was getting better and making up for what he did, but his illnesses were unfortunately getting worse until he passed.
** Worse is the fact that a day or two later, Key posted on Twitter she was taking a break from social media due to ''people being dicks to her during this time''.

** Then comes Chapter Eight recapping the guilt he feels for his rants. It ends with him breaking down, crying and apologizing to the analysis community.
** It's heartbreaking considering you ''know'' MAP had good intentions, especially when the Analysis Community ''really'' was going too far, especially when he ''didn't know'' what was happening with Golden Fox and [=Keyframe=]. Which tends to polarize some viewers into thinking the Analysis community basically ''forced'' him into guilt. Considering that the two seem to be on decent terms based on the comments, and that we don't want controversy, this seems unnecessary.

*** --> [[spoiler: '''Golden Fox''': I'll come out and say that I love the episode's moral because I can connect with having regretful past actions and it's true that you have to forgive yourself. It's been a challenge for me as well as many others, even with some anxiety. But when something as important as a message gets blown out of context, that's where it draws the line and it personally pisses me off. I've been judged, I've been pushed around since childhood, and it doesn't help when morals that I've taken into account - ''urgh!'' - are ruined by someone else's judgement that it forces me into a severe condition that I have to question the meaning of myself! '''[[SanitySlippage AAAH! WHY MUST I BE AGGRESSIVE OVER EVERYTHING?! WHY MUST I DEAL WITH DEFEAT BY JUDGEMENT?! WHY CAN'T I BE WHAT I CHOOSE TO BE?! WHY DO I HAVE TO PUT WITH THIS WORLD?!
