* In general, any time characters reflect on and grieve over the suffering and devastation the goblins have wrought and will continue to wreak.

* The Goblin Lord's backstory flashback is chock-full of this for every adventurer he ever encountered, but most especially the Conan-styled BarbarianHero who stormed his last nest to rescue a woman implied to be his lover. The craven wretch throws the girl into his arms and then runs them both through with a flamberge when he's tripped up by catching and checking her. The doomed pair exchange a final look as they fall to the floor as the ascendant Lord takes the hero's axe with a triumphant roar. Luckily the Barbarian at least [[https://www.reddit.com/r/GoblinSlayer/comments/korlev/i_just_noticed_the_barbarian_survived_his/ was revealed to have survived]] in ''Year One'', though no word on the woman, but it's unlikely the young lord stuck around to finish off the other women if that's the case.

** Fighter also deserves some mention: After Warrior is killed, she immediately went in for the attack, ordering Priestess to take Wizard and run. And even when she’s overpowered and about to be gang raped, she continued to plead Priestess to save herself and Wizard, putting their wellbeing over hers until the very end. And while she’s rescued at the end, the whole thing had clearly left her mentally broken, as she’s last seen riding with the other rescued girls to the temple huddled in a blanket and blankly staring into space.

* Priestess' first quest with the Greenhorn Team bears mention, where the young adventurers besides her were horrifically butchered and raped despite having high hopes and brief glimpses of their backstories. Poor Fighter is the only survivor of that team aside from Priestess, joining the girls she had joined the rest in trying to rescue in being taken to the church, her life as an adventurer over because of what she was put through at the goblins' hands.

* The ending of Episode 7 of the anime, which plays as Goblin Slayer lies near death after his HeroicSecondWind from Volume 2. The theme heard is the absolutely beautiful "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvCFUvzW7AI Though Our Paths May Diverge]]" from Mili.

* Guild Girl breaking down in tears when she thinks Goblin Slayer has died to the now-evil Rhea Scout, on a night of festivities when she had finally found the courage to attempt to advance their relationship.

* Goblin Slayer's sister hiding him under the floorboards and telling him to stay still and quiet until it's all over, while smiling and telling him it will all be okay. The goblins have their way with her literally right on top of him as he stares horrified through the cracks, and it's three whole days of the goblins squatting in the dirt and gore before hunger forces the boy to move out regardless.

* The flashback Noble Fencer had of the day she got captured by the goblins, not just what they put her through, but how her team [[FairWeatherFriend unanimously blamed her for their current lack of adequate supplies, even though they all agreed with her plan to starve the goblins out initially.]] Noble Fencer is shocked and hurt by how all her companions, even the Half-Elf Rogue she [[RomanticTwoGirlFriendship thought she had a special connection with]] were so quick to make her a scapegoat for their shared shortsightedness, as how leery and tightfisted the villagers are towards her attempt to get more supplies out of them despite her really doing her best to complete this mission safely.
