** And one that sounds oddly like the opening to "[[Music/TheRollingStones Gimme Shelter]]".

** "The Diet Syndrome" from has two tracks that play in succession to one another: the first one sounds like "[[Film/{{Rocky}} Gonna Fly Now]]" or "[[Film/RockyIII Eye of]] [[Music/{{Survivor}} the Tiger]]", and the second one sounds like "Theme from Series/MissionImpossible".

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MdDeMuBT5s Gundam AGE-FX]], the theme used by the eponymous mobile suit from the third generation of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamAGE'' is very similar in tune in tune and atmosphere, albeit faster, as [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lLZOT0BfHs Into Anger and Fears]], used when Annelotte uses her [[spoiler:SuperpoweredEvilSide]] in ''Anime/QueensBlade Rebellion''.

* One of the {{Character Song}}s from ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'', "Carrots and Sticks", is sung by Belarus and Ukraine. If you pay attention to the background music, it sounds like a pitched-down, remade version of Music/{{Tatu}}'s "All The Things She Said".

A song that happens to have a close title to the anime itself.

No surprise, since the same composer (Katsuo Ohno) was hired for both series and ''Conan'' was a golden opportunity to pay homage to his previous work.

* The opening of "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHk1cJWp9cM Welcome to the World]]", Joseph's theme from the AnimatedAdaptation of ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureBattleTendency'', sounds like the iconic pickup from "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVOuYquXuuc Owner of a Lonely Heart]]" by Music/{{Yes}}. Since ''[=JoJo=]'' is well known for referencing Western music and musicians, this may well have been an intentional homage.

** The song "Guilty Night, Guilty Kiss" from ''Anime/LoveLiveSunshine'' sounds a lot like Music/KatyPerry's "Teenage Dream". Taken to it's logical by Music/SiIvaGunner [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QPIqphO0uQ here]].

* "Where Does This Ocean Go" from ''Anime/GhostInTheShellStandAloneComplex'' sounds very similar to the song, "Hyperballad," by Music/{{Bjork}}.

** Another Suspiciously Similar Song of the same often accompanied the Bear's appearance in ''Manga/Gakuen''.

* The TrainingMontage in the first episode of ''Anime/GunBuster'' uses a musical cue essentially ripped off from Vangelis' theme from ''Chariots of Fire''. So much so, in fact, that Creator/StudioGainax ordered the US distributors to replace the music in the North American re-release.

* [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Viral]]'s {{Leitmotif}} ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZz74yFLkvg Nikopol]]'' sounds a lot like Linkin Park's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTlgHM6qLnY Points of Authority]], minus the rap bits.

* In ''Anime/{{SonicX}}'', the X-Tornado theme from the eighth episode can be similar to the music that is played when Tina uses her psychic powers from the film Friday the 13th: The New Blood.
* The ''Manga/{{Trigun}}'' theme is eerily similar to Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog".

* The opening song of the ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'' English dub sounds an awful lot like Blink 182's "Dammit" at times.

* One of the {{Character Song}}s from ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'', "Carrots and Sticks", is sung by Belarus and Ukraine. If you pay attention to the background music, it sounds like a pitched-down, remade version of t.A.T.u.'s All The Things She Said.
** To say nothing of the music cue for the opening titles, which strongly evokes "Also Sprach Zarathustra" (AKA the ''2001: A Space Odyssey'' theme).
* The ''Anime/{{Monster}}'' anime has "[[Film/TheWizardOfOz Over The Rainbow]]" played multiple times; it's even explicitly referred to as such. Except, it's instrumental and only vaguely sounds like it. The song isn't in the public domain. I don't know if the original Japanese version had this problem or not.

* The chorus of the song "Cendrillon" from by Kagamine Len sounds an awful lot like the chorus of the ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'' Japanese opening theme. Or is it the other way around?

** "Itsumo no Fuukei" is incredibly similar to the game over song from Mega Man 3

* "The Diet Syndrome" from ''Anime/PantyAndStockingWithGarterbelt'' has two tracks that play in succession to one another: the first one sounds like "[[Film/{{Rocky}} Gonna Fly Now]]" or "[[Film/RockyIII Eye of]] [[Music/{{Survivor}} the Tiger]]", and the second one sounds like "Theme from Series/MissionImpossible".

* Speaking of sorcerers, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvvN1DpLdH0 "Materialise"]] from Kuniaki Haishima's ''Anime/MaiOtome0Sifr'' soundtrack copies verbatim from the Eagles' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rOMGIbY-9s "Journey of the Sorcerer"]], better known as the theme from ''Franchise/TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy''.

* ''LightNovel/FullMetalPanic'': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjVmU8y4SiY "Tokkou Yarou"]], a background theme used in that series is incredibly similar to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyz_2DEah4o the theme]] from ''Series/TheATeam''. The title is actually "Tokkou Yarou?" / 「特攻野郎？」(yes, with question mark) which means something along the lines of "Gung-ho guys". Lampshaded with a ThemeTuneCameo as a cellphone ring tone and someone says it sounds like an old American TV show (which indeed was called ''[[https://danbooru.donmai.us/wiki_pages/25421 Tokkou Yarou A-Chiimu]]'' when broadcast in Japan).
