*** Ironically averted in one of the later episodes where Dex destroys Ocusect by stabbing her through her giant eye! To be more specific she switches from her humanoid form to her giant flying eyeball form and Dex throws his electro saber at her, stabbing right through the eye. He then grabs hold of his weapon with her still attached and thrusts it in for a few moments while Ocusect writhes in pain and THEN explodes. So humanoid monsters briefly getting stabbed is deemed to violent but impaling a giant eyeball and inflicting extreme pain on it is okay? Huh?

* SwordBeam: This is Dex' finisher when using the Electro Saber. In fact, he is never seen using it as a melee weapon at all. This is a result of {{Bowdlerization}}, as the title character of Black RX finished his opponents by stabbing them rather violently. Naturally, the MoralGuardians did not approve, fearing children would imitate this, so they forced the showrunners to make the Masked Rider shoot his enemies to death...with a sword.

* StuntDouble: The show uses Kotaro Minami as this, with Dex dressing up in the same white outfit to blend in with the StockFootage in some civilian fights. Most probably for budget reasons, since Saban was unable to obtain most of the monster costumes from [[Series/KamenRiderBlackRX Black RX]]. This explains why "Dex" is never seen in the same shot as the monster whenever he wears a different outfit other than Kotaro Minami's. At times, Kotaro's face could be seen during such fights.
** The show also uses Film/KamenRiderZO and Film/KamenRiderJ as this for suited fights as well. The close-up shots feature Dex in the RX suit, but the faraway action shots depicts him wearing a completely different outfit.
** Keep in mind, Masked Rider is NOT the first show that uses this method of editing. ''Series/VRTroopers'', and numerous ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' series have used footage of the Japanese actors as doubles for their respective American counterparts. However, the aforementioned budget forced production to use this method very often in Masked Rider.

The first handful of episodes were fairly comparable to the quality of ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' but it soon dropped fast. The main reason for the criticism includes turning the already LighterAndSofter ''Series/KamenRiderBlackRX'' UpToEleven, making it into even more of a comedic and vapid program.

Until 2009's ''Series/KamenRiderDragonKnight'', it was the only American adaptation of ''Franchise/KamenRider''. Still, the show does have a cult fandom and introduced many to the ''Kamen Rider'' franchise. Some of the background music was [[RecycledSoundtrack later used]] in Saban's dub of ''Anime/DigimonAdventure''. **** Ironically averted in one of the later episodes where Dex destroys Ocusect by stabbing her through her giant eye! To be more specific she switches from her humanoid form to her giant flying eyeball form and Dex throws his electro saber at her, stabbing right through the eye. He then grabs of his weapon with her still attached and thrusts it in for a few moments while Ocusect writhes in pain and THEN explodes. So humanoid monsters briefly getting stabbed is deemed to violent but impaling a giant eyeball and inflicting extreme pain on it is okay? Huh?
