* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: [[spoiler: Great Satan's head blows up rather graphically after he's been hit with the Grand Banisher. Also, Kai is blown up while still inside the Dora Talos and even visibly catches on fire.]] What the heck, Toei?!
** Do note that this series was supposed to be LighterAndSofter than ''Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman'', which had plenty of adult themes. Now try considering their idea of LighterAndSofter in light of this. In some ways that can be chalked up to ValuesDissonance as Zyuranger had just as many dark elements as previous Sentai (such as Dora Franke's various transformations) but the overall tone was more light and comedic, for example, Bandora as ruthless as she was, was also a LargeHam who had petty schemes such as interrupting a family dinner with Dora Circe because she was on a crash diet (and how she was too hungry to bother with enlarging Dora Circe).

* GroinAttack: When Burai fights the other rangers, he strikes Goushi in the groin. Unsurprisingly, this was edited out of ''Power Rangers''.

* KidsAreCruel, StartOfDarkness: [[spoiler:Bandora was actually a decent sorceress back in the days, but Kai was a ''[[{{Jerkass}} little monster]]'' who broke dinosaur eggs for lulz. So obviously when the dinosaurs found out, they chase him off to a cliff, resulting in his death. to:

* StaticCharacter: With the exception of Burai, none of the The core Zyurangers undergo any walk the line between this, {{Flat Character}}s, {{Supporting Protagonist}}s, or all of the above: They get little real development, since their time is stolen by random kids of the day, and they barely get any meaningful character development. But then again, who needs CharacterDevelopment when you have useless children interactions with each other, let alone Burai (considering his condition). In fact, their only role in the story is to bail out distressed kids and pointless side plots do the fighting (ie. beating up the Bandora Gang) for them. Comparing them and their American counterparts side-by-side, it's clear that though both sets are cardboard cutouts, the teens with attitude are at least made of thicker cardboard compared to focus on?the legendary warriors.

Added DiffLines:

* OutOfFocus: For being the show's heroes, the core Zyurangers often got overshadowed by the kid(s) of the day, who often times were the ones to actually save the day ''THAN THE TITULAR HEROES''. It also resulted in making the core Zyurangers feel like cardboard cutouts and, unlike their American counterparts, were so often robbed of spotlight that we don't see any form of development or depth at all.

Added DiffLines:

* ActorAllusion: Boi learns ninjutsu in an episode titled "Ninja Warrior Boi". This is a reference to Hashimoto's previous role as Manabu Yamaji in ''Series/SekaiNinjaSenJiraiya''.
** Later, Geki would fight a giant monster again, now alone as Film/KamenRiderJ.

Added DiffLines:

* SupportingProtagonist: The core Zyurangers are ultimately this: the kids would get the most focus for the majority of the series and the Zyurangers are just tagging along to make sure they're safe by fighting off the villains or MonstersOfTheWeek.

* ShoutOut: Dragon Caesar not only looks like Franchise/{{Godzilla}}, but its very name is a reference to the King of Monsters. The Pteranodon Beast emerging from a volcano is reminiscent of Film/{{Rodan}}.

* ShoutOut: Dragon Caesar not only looks like Franchise/{{Godzilla}}, but its very name is a reference to the King of Monsters. Dragon Caesar also has finger missiles much like the 1970s incarnation of Mechagodzilla. The Pteranodon Beast emerging from a volcano is reminiscent of Film/{{Rodan}}.

Added DiffLines:

* ReadingsBlewUpTheScale: In the Dino Video special, Dino-kun makes estimates of the powers of all the Megazords. But Kyukyoku Daizyujin blows up the scale, as it's too powerful to understand.

Added DiffLines:

* TankTreadMecha: The five [[AnimalMecha Guardian Beasts]] first combine into the "Dino Tanker", forming armour, cannons and tank treads around the Tyrannosaurus beast, before further transforming into the humanoid [=DaiZyuJin=]. Likewise for its ForeignRemake ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'', with the Megazord's Tank Mode and Battle Mode.

Added DiffLines:

** The opening credits start with a book being opened. The last episode ends with the back cover of that same book being closed.
