''Green Porno'' is a series of comedic and educational short films created by and starring Isabella Rossellini, released on Sundance Channel from 2008 to date. In the films, Rossellini imitates the mating behaviors of various insects and other creepy crawlies in an intentionally low budget manner, with costumes and setpieces made of colorful construction paper, cardboard, and foam rubber, all while she presents the subject in a [[CloudCuckooLander playful]] yet oddly sensual physical manner. More often than not, she portrays the male of the species, be it a honeybee drone who dies after participating in the new queen bee's virgin flight or a praying mantis whose head is bitten off by his mate. Subsequent seasons of ''Green Porno'' shifted focus to marine life, with whales, starfish, and barnacles given the same treatment on screen as snails, earthworms, and spiders, as well as a whole episode dedicated to the vagina with Rossellini monologuing in a forest of [[GagPenis colorful cardboard penises]]. The third and final season of ''Green Porno'' had a more [[GreenAesop environmental message]], with a look at animals found in Italian seafood and how human industry exploits them, as well as talks with Argentine marine biologist Claudio Campagna and a look at the elephant seals he studies in Patagonia.

''Green Porno'' is a series of educational short films created by and starring Isabella Rossellini, released on Sundance Channel from 2008 to date. In the eight original films that comprise the first season, Rossellini enacts the mating behaviors of various insects (and other invertebrates) with cardboard cut-outs and foam-rubber sculptures... most of the time both quite graphically and scientifically accurate. A good deal of its comic value comes from Rossellini's great ability to mimic different insects and other "bugs", the cardboard settings as well as her [[CloudCuckooLander playful]] yet oddly sensual physical approach to the subject.

After the success of the first ''Green Porno'' films, Sundance commissioned two further seasons. While season 1 was all about bugs and creepy crawlers, the two subsequent seasons shifted to marine creatures. Season 2 covered animals such as whales (with [[GagPenis bits and bobs to scale]]), sequential hermaphroditic limpets, [[GagPenis unusually endowed]] barnacles, and asexual sea stars; there was also an entire episode dedicated to the vagina, with Rossellini wandering through a forest of giant scientifically correct animal dongs made of construction paper. The 3rd season of ''Green Porno'' continued with other marine creatures, specifically those found in Italian cuisine, with Rossellini amusingly losing her appetite due to either the mating behavior or more often the environmentally damaging practices the seafood industry uses to obtain enough of the animal for human consumption; the season also featured Argentine marine biologist Claudio Campagna discussing the environmental issues affecting the marine environment, as well as an episode where Rossellini visited Argentina where the two observed elephant seal harems. A ''Green Porno: Live'' show followed, with Rossellini discussing animal mating habits to audiences with props and puppets.

The success of ''Green Porno'' led to other similar shows staring Rossellini dressing up as and mimicking the behaviors of animals. The first of these was ''Seduce Me'', in which she explored courtship rituals and the varied forms that sex takes in the animal world. ''Seduce Me'' covered bedbugs with their ''unique'' biology (see the page quote); paper dolphin puppets participating in all kinds of straight, gay, and solo sexual couplings; the lack of consent in the duck world and the female duck's "vaginal complexity"; macho cuttlefish's harems and "crossdressing" males who steal their mates; and how the story of Noah's Ark could not make sense when there are animals that are neither male nor female or can be both within a single lifetime and animals that are only female and still reproduce. A third related series from Sundance is titled ''Mammas'', which focuses more on the unusual childrearing behaviors of animals that would be unusual if it happened the human world such as cannibalistic hamsters, the "nanny" using cuckoo, and a parasitic wasp with its live caterpillar feast for its child.

In addition to her work with Sundance, Rossellini also worked with the cosmetics company Burt's Bees to in a series called "Burt Talks to the Bees", where she portrays both Burt and the bees, with a focus on colony collapse disorder and how to protect honeybee populations. She also filmed a special for Creator/DiscoveryChannel titled ''Animals Distract Me'', which looks at the different animals that you can encounter in everyday life, in the same ''Green Porno'' style of course. Where else can you see Isabella Rossellini dramatically worry about ''Demodex'' eyelash mites by pretending to be one under "attack" from a mascara wand?

The following series are actually called ''Seduce Me'', but the concept remains [[SpiritualSuccessor the same]], and most people still call it Green Porno. Over the course of Green Porno's three seasons, the focus of the show has shifted. Season one dealt exclusively with insects that people can realistically encounter on a daily basis. The second season focused on sea creatures but also included an episode on the sexual organs. For the third and smallest season, Green Porno adopted an overt environmental theme, specifically one which focused on the concept of over fishing contrasted with the mating habits of animals commonly used as food. In season three, Rossellini is joined by [[ShownTheirWork biologist]] Claudio Campagna.
