A reality-bending experiment by Dr. John Deegan (Creator/JeremyDavies), a doctor from Gotham City's Arkham Asylum, causes Oliver Queen, aka the Green Arrow, and Barry Allen, aka the Flash, to involuntarily swap lives and identities. With the help of Kara Danvers, aka Supergirl and the only person who recognises the switch, Oliver and Barry have to embrace the other's abilities, assemble a team of heroes from across the multiverse and set things right.

"Elseworlds" will introduce ComicBook/{{Batwoman}} (Creator/RubyRose) and Gotham City —a first for the Arrowverse— as well as ComicBook/LoisLane (Elizabeth Tulloch), Nora Fries (Cassandra Jean Amell) and [[ComicBook/CrisisOnInfiniteEarths The Monitor]] ([=LaMonica=] Garrett), while ComicBook/{{Superman}} (Creator/TylerHoechlin) will also re-appear in his first appearance in a Arroverse crossover. In a very surprising twist, [[Creator/JohnWesleyShipp John Wesley Shipp]]'s [[Series/TheFlash1990 Barry Allen]] will also end up appearing. The crossover will set up Batwoman's [[Series/Batwoman2019 own series]].

In this crossover, Oliver Queen/the Green Arrow, Barry Allen/the Flash and Kara Danvers/Supergirl are drawn to Gotham City to confront Dr. John Deegan, a doctor who works at Arkham Asylum. This somehow causes Oliver and Barry to wake up in the other's life and identity, and to set things right, they must assemble a team of heroes from across the multiverse.
