* BigDamnHeroes: The party gets to pull this for the Hero Club of Kamogawa when they enter Mio's world.

* CombatMedic: Apparently being a healer in this game requires you to be as tough as nails and capable of dishing out equal amounts of pain and health.
** In particular, Motya is the [[MightyGlacier tankiest and strongest character in the party]] but tends to focus on keeping everyone alive instead of beating people up.
* CooldownHug: Frequently delivered by [[TeamMom It That]] [[MeaningfulName Embraces]]. [[{{Understatement}} Does not work]] on ENG the Unhuggable.
* CoolMask: Eirika wears one to disguise her identity. The parallels to [[VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening Lucina]] were not missed.
* TheCreon: Mio, who repeatedly gets voted up or trusted with leadership against her will, even when it becomes increasingly clear she is one of the few people in the group who can be trusted with that responsibility.

* GlassCannon: Mio's defensive stats are some of the lowest in the game and remain that way even in her SuperMode. Her attacking stats are some of the highest in the game, get even higher in Mankai, and her damage can reach into the ''hundreds'' while in Mankai form.

* {{Jerkass}}: Alria is described as 'cruel' within the game. Periw also treats most of the other characters like dirt due to her status as an InsufferableGenius.

* {{Kaleidoscope Hair}}: Anna has this due to her Semblance. It changes with her mood, and she can change it intentionally as well.
* KnightInShiningArmor: Mio tries to be this and live up to the Hero Club tenets. Idou actually IS this.
* KnightInSourArmor: Garnt, despite the hells he undergoes in [[VideoGame/DarkSouls his home world]], counts himself as part of the Brotherhood of the Sun.
* [[LabcoatofScienceandMedicine Labcoat of Science and Medicine]]: Motya's clothing of choice. It's also the only piece of clothing they wear. [[NoBiologicalSex Not that they have anything they need to cover.]]

* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Motya, ''Motya'', '''''Motya'''''. It seems that they lack the concept or outright don't care.
* OnlySaneMan: Mio is rapidly evolving into this, due to her level-headed or calm responses to pretty much every single situation.

* RefusalOfTheCall: [[spoiler: Anna, Chryssa, and Ian left when the team was given the opportunity to go home or continue fighting.]]
* ResurrectiveImmortality: Garnt and Bisnif have variations of this; Garnt due to being an [[VideoGame/DarkSouls Undead]] and Bisnif due to being TheArchmage.

* WakeUpCallBoss: The [[Anime/YukiYunaIsAHero Vertex]] as a whole seem to be this, being thus far the only bosses who have posed a threat to the party.

* BFS: Masaru has one of these, in the form of the Tower Blade, a weapon which certainly lives up to it's name, being large enough to use as a shield.

* DarkIsEvil: The [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Shadow Beasts]] who are the party's first encounter.
* DarkIsNotEvil: The Battered Hero, a giant who seems to be impaled by a multitude of weapons and causes people to see themselves dead- or in Sachi's case, her sister- in his place.

* DemonicPossession: The [[Franchise/KingdomHearts Possessor Heartless]], the second boss.

* GenreSavvy - TILT, a minor boss in the Overwatch subplot, acted like a toxic gamer that comprises most of MOBA player bases.

* HavingABlast: Gozer, the companion summon to Dackly, has a skill which summons psychic bombs, these bombs also [[TakingYouWithMe detonate when he is downed, with twice the damage they would normally do.]]
** Navin is an even better fit, as he is a superhero whose entire power or to create explosions from his fists when he punches things.

* GoodScars,EvilScars: Aquila has what have been explicitly stated to be evil scars covering his face.
* OurSoulsAreDifferent: Causes many problems between Arminius and various other party members, mainly due to the former's flippant stealing of souls.

''[[http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=153808.0 Trespassers of the Multiverse: Gaiden]]'' is yet another [[Bay12PlayByPostGames Bay12 roleplay]], headed by Sanure and co-hosted by [[Tropers/{{Skybrigadier}} ElfCollaborator]]. Designed as a SpiritualSuccessor to the ''Everything: Gaiden'' roleplays, this roleplay aims to fulfill what the previous two roleplays did not, which is have a coherent plot and rules.

* BadassGrandpa: Garnt in relation to the protagonists, being in his early fifties, who are in their late teens and early twenties. Bisnif takes the cake, however, being in his eighties.

* CastFromHitPoints: The final boss of the Jak and Daxter Plot, Dark Vespiquen, used this as one of it's final attacks, a massive highly damaging AoE pure Damage attack, which also damaged itself as it's cost.

* KidHero: Argent. Though there have been minors in the games before (Mio, for instance), most of them were either [[ShellShockedVeteran traumatised as badly as adults]] or WiseBeyondTheirYears. Argent is the only traditional and conventional KidHero in either game.

* KnightInSourArmour: Notable examples of this is Visrii and Leon. Both are disillusioned with ideals and yet still fight for them.

* GenderBender: Alan- possibly Alanis now- seems to have been permanently gender-bent due to a drink that is basically "Cause random magic effect." He got an effect that had a chance of changing his sex whenever he cast a spell. Considering he's basically a DungeonsAndDragons Sorcerer... when it was dispelled, he was female.

* BadPowersGoodPeople: Wyvis uses blood magic to protect and heal his friends, despite it being prohibited and feared in his home world.
* BloodMagic: Wyvis uses blood magic to power his abilities, most notably his ability to bleed out his enemies with any weapon he uses.

* OurOrcsAreDifferent: Mar, instead of a brutish warmonger, is an intelligent craftsman and blacksmith.
* TroubledBackstoryFlashback: Visrii frequently suffers from this whenever he is knocked unconscious or is asleep
* YinYangBomb: Argent uses both holy and hell fire to attack and support his team members.

* KidHero: Argent. Though there have been minors in the games before (Mio, for instance), most of them were either [[ShellShockedVeteran traumatised as badly as adults]] or WiseBeyondTheirAge. Argent is the only traditional and conventional KidHero in either game.
