Ravenpaw later reveals the truth: that Redtail killed Oakheart first, and that Tigerclaw murdered Redtail after the battle. Bluestar refuses to believe this, since not only would it mean that Tigerclaw was a traitor, but it also casts aspersions on Redtail's honor since he would never kill an enemy in cold blood. Fireheart eventually learns what really happened: Oakheart actually died in a rockfall during the battle (Redtail had been chasing him when it happened, so Ravenpaw was technically correct, but Redtail didn't in fact intend to kill him as Fireheart originally thought).
