Added DiffLines:

* UnskilledButStrong: Unlike Oliver (who's fighting skills are superior to Thawne but is helpless against his Super Speed) and Barry (who has similar powers but isn't at Thawne's level with them) Firestorm is the only one of the trio who actually has the offensive power to harm Thawne, best shown when he makes him stumble with a single blast. However they've clearly never fought a supervillain before and Thawne is easily able to immediately blast Firestorm away. Once Barry is able to set them up though Firestorm is the one who's able to mostly take him out with a little assist from Oliver to keep Thawne down.

* AbsenteeActor
** Captain Singh. WrittenInAbsence, since Joe mentions that he's on his honeymoon.
** The first Rogue outing since his debut not to include Heat Wave.
** No inside voice from Professor Stein in Firestorm's appearance.
** Ray Palmer a.k.a. The ATOM doesn't show up to help Barry defeat Eobard Thawne, but Oliver Queen references him, and uses an arrow infused with nanites to remove his super speed.

* FiveBadBand: The metahumans in the pipeline have this dynamic; Mark Mardon is the BigBad since he's the (de-facto) leader and has the most kill-counts (the A.R.G.U.S. pilots) of all the metahumans , Kyle Nimbus is TheDragon as he acts as a traditional (evil) Lancer to Mardon , Roy Bivolo is the EvilGenius since his powers require him to sneak around to work (and he does on Caitlin) as well as being the most level-headed of the metahumans , Jake Simmons is TheBrute as he only focuses on offense , and Shawna Baez is the DarkChick as she is the sole female member of the group .

* ActorAllusion: The episode practically shows Creator/WentworthMiller's character ultimately causing a Series/PrisonBreak for Barry's RoguesGallery.

Added DiffLines:

* BrigBallBouncing: Mark Mardon is shown in his containment cell in the Pipeline bouncing a ball off the wall since the small, bare cell has no other forms of entertainment to offer. Then the cell gets gassed to sedate him.

* BrickJoke: Barry couldn't reach Oliver because he has no idea where Nanda Parbat is supposed to be. At least this time he now has an excuse for being late rescuing Team Arrow from imprisonment (and death).

* TheUnreveal: After the team learn of Thawne's hiding place, the latter immediately races out of there and out of the city. Where he went during his absence, and whether he had any reason to go somewhere, are left unanswered.

** The district attorney gives Joe one of these when Joe "IHaveThisFriend hypothetically" asks if she would be willing to assist in transporting illegally held, undocumented metahuman prisoners from one extrajudicial prison to another.

Has nothing to do with familiarity with in-universe fiction.

* GenreSavvy:
** Cisco doesn't even try to disable Thawne's device, reasoning one wrong move could spell disaster.
** The DA sees right through Joe's IHaveThisFriend façade regarding his involvement with the Pipeline.
** Oliver brings along more than one arrow to disable Thawne's SuperSpeed, well aware that the tactic of knocking out a villain's powers can be a coin toss. His second arrow appears to have three times the nanites on it.
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Joe is afraid Team Flash is turning into this.
