* HurricaneOfExcuses: After running into Sour Cream by accident, Marty suddenly goes in a blathering rant about how busy show-business is which Greg and Steven talk over.

* CreatorCameo: Ian Jones-Quartey appears as one of the members of the audience at Sour Cream's concert. And then it's shown that he passed out from the Guacola.

* ItsAllAboutMe: Marty insists he "needs" the publicity from pushing Guacola and that Sour Cream should be happy he was getting him in on it.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: Marty wasn't even ''trying'' to make up for lost time with Sour Cream, he was just taking an opportunity to make money from the publicity. He was only even in town to give Greg a check because he was "legally obligated" to, and would've left without a second thought had he not run into his son by chance. (That said, he was apparently prepared to give Greg the check in a much friendlier mood the first time.)

* InternalReveal:
** Sour Cream being Marty's son had been ''heavily'' implied earlier, but this is the first time Steven hears of it.
** Likewise, Marty's reaction confirms Steven's [[PintSizedPowerhouse unusual strength relative to his size]], which could have been explained as sight gags until this point.

* ParentsAsPeople: Yellowtail may not understand Sour Cream's wish to be a DJ, but he stills loves him, and helps put on the show in the end just because he knows it'll make him happy. (That it would also be a good chance for some petty oneupmanship, to prove he's the better dad, plainly never even occurs to him.)

* ContinuityNod: Steven brings up numerous details from "Story for Steven", like how big of a jerk Marty was to his dad and how horrible his manager skills were when it came to promoting Greg's concert.

* InternalReveal: Sour Cream being Marty's son had been ''heavily'' implied earlier, but this is the first time Steven hears of it.

* ProperlyParanoid: Steven quickly tenses up when Marty shows up. With the fiasco that resulted from the Guacola and Marty manipulating his son for his own gain, he was right to worry.

** It's also a subtle Deconstruction. Sour Cream clearly couldn't tell how heavy the box of stuff Steven handed to him was, because of how easily Steven carried it. Suddenly bending like he has to when Steven passes it off is an easy way to injure yourself.

* PapaWolf: Yellowtail is ''not'' happy to see Marty back in town.
