* {{Forgiveness}}: Garnet ''finally'' makes peace with Pearl over the events of "Cry for Help". She hasn't EasilyForgiven her for tricking her to fuse, but it was enough to come into a better understanding.

* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: Pearl reasons that she tricks Garnet into fusing with her because Garnet is the strongest in the group, emotionally, and she could feel some confidence in her life. Garnet shoots down this excuse and admits that she's NotSoAboveItAll thanks to her own flaws, especially the ones Pearl unwittingly exploited that caused her two halves to split once again.

* NotSoAboveItAll: Peridot is a lot more expressive in this episode. She mimics Steven's EyelidPullTaunt and even devolves into {{Angrish}} at one point.

* SchizoTech: TheWallsAreClosingIn trap is a particularly odd example, given it's apparently operated by ''wireless'' clockwork. More generally, the advanced starship has lasers mixed with traps that one might expect in ''Franchise/IndianaJones''.

  • Adorkable TRS cleanup. It is now YMMV. ZCE are being removed.

* {{Adorkable}}: Peridot pulls more faces and becomes increasingly irritated at not being able to stop the Crystal Gems.

* LuredIntoATrap: Once Peridot knows the Crystal Gems can track her, she lures them to an old gem space ship whose internal defenses she turns against them. She then pulls a smaller scale trap by putting a {{Hologram}} of herself on top of a TrapDoor, which Pearl keeps attacking even after realizing is fake.

Reality ensues is about characters not being protected by narritive convention.

* RealityEnsues: Even if a number of the space-ship's systems are functional enough to work as a trap for the Crystal Gems, a lot of them are still broken. For example, at one point, Steven has to brush the plants off a communication crystal so Peridot can hear him. Peridot also has trouble working the ship systems because she barely understands the relatively archaic technology, damage or no damage. When Peridot and the Gems are speaking over the communicator, there's actually a second of latency between when Steven talks and when Peridot responds. If you listen closely, you can hear Pearl and Steven's words repeat over on Peridot's end of the chat.

** Pearl calls herself "just ''a'' Pearl", just like Jasper did in "[[StevenUniverseS1E48TheReturn The Return]]". This lends additional weight to the theory that Pearl is just one of many similar Pearls.
** The four color diamond shown on ancient Gem sites, most recently in "[[StevenUniverseS2E9SwornToTheSword Sworn to the Sword"]], can be seen by the pit trap.

Not a deconstruction, because the whole POINT of the trope is giving away information they have no reason to.

* ExplainingYourPowersToTheEnemy: Steven does this to Peridot, telling her that they found a way to track her (though he doesn't explain how). It's {{Deconstructed}}, as Peridot uses this information to lead them into a trap.

The moment you've been waiting for- the finale of the Week of Sardonyx.

The gems find Peridot at the Galaxy Warp. They prepare to attack her, but the overeager and desperate for forgiveness Pearl ruins it, resulting in Peridot getting away. They are later able to track her to an old, abandoned gem ship. They assume Peridot is using it to get away, but she actually has something different in mind. She knew the gems were tracking her (because Steven told her), and lured them to the ship to make use of its old but still somewhat functional traps. [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Nice job breaking it, Steven]].
