* BaitAndSwitch: Between Pyre's remark that Agent Tierny will get Tam to talk "one way or the other", the First Order's commitment to keeping Doza in the dark about their more villainous activities, and the Empire's long, well-documented history of ColdBloodedTorture, it's easy to assume that when Tam is escorted out of Captain Doza's office to be interrogated elsewhere, it's not going to end well for her. Instead, Tierny takes Tam to the Aces' lounge, gets her a drink, and remains as polite as ever.

* BrickJoke: Kaz, Neeku, and Yeager are spotted while crawling around the Colossus' maintenance corridors due to an agitated Kaz talking rather too loudly. When they finally reach engineering, Kel and Eila remark that they could also hear Kaz through the vents, and that he was "really loud".

* CassandraTruth: When Kaz confesses to Neeku that he's a Resistance spy, Neeku assumes he's joking, to the extent that when Kel and Eila admit they overheard him talking about it, he criticizes Kaz for tricking the children into believing his "lies".

* CrazyEnoughToWork: The general reaction to Kaz's plan to sink the Colossus so he, Yeager and CB-23 can more easily reach the First Order's jammer.

* ShapedLikeItself: After Yeager says that Kaz's plan is "So crazy it might just work," Neeku retorts that it's "So crazy it might be crazy!"

Added DiffLines:

* UnspokenPlanGuarantee: PlayedWith. Kaz's plan to sink the Colossus, disable the First Order's comm blanket, and get a message to the Resistance goes off without a hitch. It's only afterwards that things go wrong: the First Order figure out what's happening, Yeager sacrifices himself to make sure Kaz escapes, and the Resistance can't spare the manpower to help them.

* RealityEnsues:
** Kaz, Neeku, and Yeager get into a long, emotionally-charged conversation while sneaking around in the maintenance tunnels. Because it's emotionally-charged, it gets really loud and the stormtroopers easily find them (and lucky for Team Fireball, so do Kel, Eila, and the Chelidae).
** Kaz flying the Fireball in combat against the First Order in "The Core Problem" is what outed him as a Resistance agent, owing to the distinctive paint scheme and the fact that he was trespassing in a restricted sector alongside Poe's X-Wing.
