** Flats getting hospitalized would count as [[LaserGuidedKarma Laser-Guided Karma]], but Flats doesn’t learn anything from that, (even when he finds out he’s alive thanks to [=SpongeBob=]), so the trope doesn’t really fit.

* FurryReminder: A subtle one at the end, where Squidward's limbs are in a bucket and he has an IV going into his head. All of a cephalopod's vital organs are in their mantle, what we would interpret as their head, while their limbs are often torn off but can regenerate with no ill effects. It's improbable for one to survive being entirely limbless long enough to grow its limbs back, but having civilization and access to medical care is a different story.

* InstantTasteAddiction: Spongebob is surprised to find out that resident grouch [[TheKilljoy Squidward]] has never tried a Krabby Patty before. Squidward takes a single miniscule bite out of one to make Spongebob happy, which he outwardly claims to hate but secretly he becomes instantly hooked. He breaks into the Krabby Patty vault that night and ends up eating so many that he explodes. On the way to the hospital, the paramedic implies that this happens to a lot of people who try Krabby Patties for the first time.

* LowerHalfReveal: After [[Characters/SpongeBobSquarePantsSquidwardTentacles Squidward Tentacles]] gets addicted to eating Krabby Patties [=SpongeBob=] warns him of the consequences. Squidward asks [=SpongeBob=] if he'll blow up after eating too many Krabby Patties, to which the latter responds that it will go to his thighs first. Cue Squidward's gigantic thighs showing up after being shown from the waist up in the previous scene.

* AWeightyAesop: Fast food is addictive and can make you fat. Despite how good it might taste, it should be enjoyed in moderation.

* HateAtFirstSight: [=SpongeBob=] only needs to introduce himself to Flats to get the response, "Hi, [=SpongeBob=]. I'm gonna kick your butt."

* MisplacedRetribution: The citizens of Bikini Bottom always attack an old man when [=SpongeBob=] freaked out about ''Flats'' kicking his butt. Granted, they did think [=SpongeBob=] was talking about him.

* OhCrap: ''Plenty.'' Especially from [=SpongeBob=]. The first comes with Flats ripping his chest hair convincing [=SpongeBob=] of his intent to pummel him by spelling .

** AWeightyAesop: Fast food is addictive and can make you fat. Despite how good it might taste, it should be eaten in moderation.

* ArmorPiercingQuestion: Squidward spends the majority of the episode adamantly denying his love for Krabby Patties out of misguided pride. Near the end, [=SpongeBob=] catches him while he is about to eat one and smugly asks "You like Krabby Patties, don't you, Squidward?" Realizing the futility of his actions, Squidward gives in, admiting how much he enjoys the sandwich and proceeding to feast on the Krabby Patty vault.

* GrossUpCloseUp: "Does ''this'' look 'unsure' to you?!"
* GuiltyPleasures: Squidward and Krabby Patties.

* MyGodYouAreSerious: When Flats tells [=SpongeBob=] he's going to kick his butt, [=SpongeBob=] thinks he's kidding... that is, until he spells it out with his chest hair (literally).

* AdultsAreUseless: [=SpongeBob=] asks Mrs. Puff to intervene, but she stupidly misinterprets Flats as just wanting to befriend [=SpongeBob=][[note]]though considering how much she's been shown to dislike [=SpongeBob=] herself, this could be a case of ObfuscatingStupidity[[/note]]. Then he runs into Flats' dad and finds out that ''he's'' being bullied as well!

* AdultsAreUseless: [=SpongeBob=] asks Mrs. Puff to intervene, but she stupidly misinterprets Flats as just wanting to befriend [=SpongeBob=] (though considering how much she's been shown to dislike [=SpongeBob=] herself this could be a case of ObfuscatingStupidity). Then he runs into Flats' dad and finds out that ''he's'' being bullied as well!

* CruelTwistEnding: Flats eventually collapses from the exhaustion of trying to beat up [=SpongeBob=]. Mrs Puff (who did nothing to help [=SpongeBob=] when Flats was bullying him) then enters, [[NotWhatItLooksLike sees Flats lying unconscious next to [=SpongeBob=], whose fist was in the air during a heroic speech]], and announces her intent to [[HereWeGoAgain beat up [=SpongeBob=]]] (whether or not she ever did is never shown, not like she could've done much if Flats couldn't anyway).

* IdiotBall: When [=SpongeBob=] is caught by Mrs. Puff who believes he beat up Flats (he was making a fist from a RousingSpeech after Flats fainted from punching him), he does nothing but get surprised at what's going on. Granted, he should've told Mrs. Puff he didn't do anything about it, or ask the students who witnessed everything to stick up for him.

* ShootTheShaggyDog: By way of a HopeSpot. [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] in that [=SpongeBob=] managed to survive his assailant, but that doesn't stop Mrs. Puff from [[MadeOutToBeAJerkass thinking that he beat up Flats]], who she [[UsefulNotes/VictimBlaming thinks is innocent]] because AdultsAreUseless in this story, resulting in her claiming that she's going to kick [=SpongeBob=]'s butt. All the pain and suffering [=SpongeBob=] tried to avoid is still going to happen, if not even worse because adults are more seasoned than students.

* BlatantLies: Flats tells Mrs. Puff that he comes from a place where ''kicking someone's butt" is his way of saying "I want to be your friend." [=SpongeBob=] is not convinced.

* BullyHunter: The Bikini Bottom civilians try to fend off Spongebob's bully for him... too bad they get the wrong guy.
